Sleep pods are trending overseas but as a Japanese, I never got the hype. Maybe because I never actually tried it. That’s why I decided to try all of the sleep pods I found in this video. I tried the newest sleep pod in the train station, futuristic pod in the capsule hotel, internet cafe with a loft bed, oxygen-infused sleep pod and a pod inside a night bus.     Considering how late check in times and early check out times are in Japan, those station pods are really good to bide some time before the next check in time, assuming you're in the city to try out different hotel accommodations like I did 2 years ago while also figuring out potential remote work locations.

    As a solo traveller. Capsule hotels are brilliant! At normal hotels you pay for the room which is for 2 persons.

    A capsule hotel is per bed. So cheaper and often better luxury than dormitories.

    After spending too much money to visit my honey in Tokyo on the weekends decades ago riding the Bullet Train I started taking the cheap overnight bus from Shin Kobe to Tachikawa. I don't think they went downtown Tokyo at that time. That's a good way to save some money if you can sleep on a bus. Cheaper buses do have the トイレ.
