As we step into this abandoned house in Belgium, we uncover a story frozen in time—a tale of a family that once thrived here, but whose lives were marked by both love and loss. The house became abandoned around the turn of 2013 and 2014, leaving behind a hauntingly beautiful time capsule.
This home once belonged to a Belgian couple who were blessed with numerous children. But tragedy struck when their son, James, passed away at the age of just 18 years old, casting a deep shadow over their lives. The loss of James adds a sorrowful layer to our exploration, as we wander through the remnants of a family that once was.
Surrounded by sprawling grounds, it’s clear this family had a passion for horses. Evidence of horse sports and livestock can still be seen, a testament to the life they once lived. Inside, the home feels more modern than the older places we often explore, yet signs of decay are undeniable.

I think there are hardly pics of the mother, because she used to take the pics. At least that's how it went in my family.
What struck me were the many pics left behind. Usually that's what parents would take with them in the first place, because their children would love to watch them one day. When my house is on fire, what I'd try to throw out of the windows first would be photographalbums and diaries. I wonder if this family's still alive. I find it gloomy.

Usually when someone puts post notes on items such as this house the white posted notes is them saying for instance I want one son to have whatever is posted on the item and and yellow or pink to go to someone who they want to give things to

26:47 The handwriting is very difficult to decipher and the note seems telegraphic (some words are missing or oddly cut with the edge of the letter) but I think I can see the words :
– lines 1 and 2 : "Pourquoi"/ "(Bien tot ?) litige" ("Why" / "soon dispute" in english). Not sure for the "Bien tot" / soon", maybe it's not that.
– lines 3-4-5 : something with "Tu t'es bien dé-brouillé ces derniers temps……" ("you've been doing well lately….." en english).
– lines 6-7 : "Tu auras reçu mon message" ("you will have received my message")
– line 8 : "si tu veux viens discu ter dim. (dimanche)" ("If you want come and chat Sun (sunday)"), with a RDV date.
The note looks a little threatening to a person, for me.
Perhaps everything was left abandoned because of an inheritance dispute among the 3 remaining children, and/or the rest of the family ?
