Bom dia, Miguel! I am glad to know that everyone is safe after the earthquake. It is such a shame that in America, many centuries-old structures fall to the wrecking ball for the stark and seemingly ultra-modern architectural styles. I tremendously appreciate the Portuguese approach to historical preservation which amplifies a sense of cultural identity. Thank you for the visual magic and your love of history for your amazing country!
Thank you, Miguel, for taking us back to Lisbon. In December 2012 our family of four visited the Saramago Museum. Now I can tell friends that we’ve been inside a Lisbon building the top half of which was destroyed by the 1755 earthquake and the bottom half of which survived the all the shake, rattle, and roll. By the way, the "Like" icon on the video is missing. One can still hit "Like", but it might be that the icon did not survive the All-Saints Day earthquake. 😄

Speaking of earthquakes: I myself am shaking a little right now, as I would love to go back to these places and try to work out how old the houses are. It would seem I should skip the Pingo Doce with the Elevador Castelo and head past the São Cristóvão e São Lourenço church to the north. Anyway: let's hope Lisbon is spared of major earthquakes for a few generations still.

Nessa madrugada por coincidência estava acordada quando ouvi um barulho estranho e recebi uma mensagem também ela estranha… 🤨Dizia que tinha havido um sismo … Claro fiquei aflita embora eu estar longe mas tinha família em Lisboa, mas foi apenas um susto… Em 1968 estava a dormir quando tudo termia😳era criança mas lembro-me perfeitamente…. Essa rua da Mouraria nem parecia portuguesa🙄Miguel tenha cuidado com uma câmara na mão, à sítios muito arriscados…. Esses são piores do que os das cabras😀Uma boa semana

J ai connu le tremblement de terre de 1969 à Casablanca ! J 'avais 9 ans ! Mon père m'avait enlevé du lit de force et m'avait fait courir au jardin. Le bruit était terrible ! On aurait dit des concerts de tuiles des concerts de tôles ! Le mur du jardin tremblait ! J oublierai jamais ! LES GENS AVAIENT PRIS LEUR VOITURE POUR PARTIR . On craignait une secousse ! Elles est jamais venue ! Hier il y a eu un petit tremblement de terre sur la côte d' Azur ! Après ma naissance il y a eu un tremblement de terre à Agadir très important !
Boa tarde Miguel, seus vídeos como já comentei, nos leva a lugares que na maioria das vezes passariam despercebidos não só pelos turistas como também pelos nativos portugueses, que bom que isso acontece porque a história é enriquecida nos detalhes, isso é perfeito para quem adora história. Olha quando você percorreu a rua Mouraria, parecia que não era Lisboa e sim qualquer país asiático ou do oriente médio, tamanho a quantidade de imigrantes. Realmente não podemos generalizar mas a imigração desenfreada e sem controle só acarreta transtornos a população local, afinal tudo acarreta e tange para o aumento da violência, isto é fato…eu tenho uma tese que os mulçumanos estão querendo reconquistar a Europa perdida para os cristãos durante a reconquista…. abraços e tenha uma ótima semana 👏🤜🤛
Здравейте, Мигел😊! Прекрасната Алфама, до която само се докоснах, макар да обикаляхме с часове. На живописен хълм, с впечатляваща архитектура, уютни малки площадчета и църкви. Незабравима със средновековната си атмосфера въпреки преобладаващия по–нов стил. Последното голямо разрушително земетресение в родния ми град Пловдив през 1928 година е със сила степен 7 по Рихтер. За късмет къщата ни с барокови орнаменти, построена през 1908 година, не е пострадала. Обяснението е, че макар да е масивна сграда, е с гъвкава конструкция, и е разположена върху гранитен хълм. Постройките в равнинната част на града са били тотално разрушени.
Не коментирам ситуацията в квартали като Мурария, които са все по–честа тенденция из цяла Европа, включително и тук, макар все още да сме далеч от темповете в по–богатите страни. Надявам се, че сте преценил опасностите, които могат да се появят, посещавайки го. Благодаря за увлекателния разказ и красиво видео. Спокойна нова седмица! Прегръдки❤
