High-End Restaurant Hidden Between Love Hotels | Shibuya Wagyu Spot, Rogama Steak Arcanum

Rogama Steak Arcanum is a hidden gem in the heart of Shibuya’s Love Hotel District. Tucked into the backstreets of one of Tokyo’s most highly trafficked areas is a high-end steak restaurant specializing in kiln-roasted dishes, mainly those using Tamura Wagyu from Tajima Beef Cattle, some of Japan’s finest.

Head Chef Shinya Suzuki has quite an interesting background, and — something unusual for Japan — many tattoos. Why? And how did he get into cooking luxe, melt-in-your-mouth food? You’ll have to watch to find out! 🥩🌹

  1. If you're anything like me the Love Hotels are just a place you will never get to use but the idea is a tantalizing fantasy.

  2. I hate watching these videos while im trying to plan my trip to japan next year. Im only going to be there for two weeks, and i have a years worth of stuff i want to do.

  3. About 10 years ago I stumbled into an incredible Tempura place In the backstreets of Shibuya. I have been fortunate enough to have eaten at 2 different Michelin star rated Tempura restaurants in Tokyo but I still remember that fantastic, lively and creative place in Shibuya. I have tried and tried to find that backstreet place over the years but no luck.

  4. An unexpected hidden gem of a place with secret garden a professional chef behind it too! The food looks stunning, although I still would love to know more about the sourcing of the Shark Fins. Hopefully it's from a credible humane sourcing.
The chef's backstory is very interesting and I'm glad he's turned a new leaf from his delinquent times. I hope he gets his Michelin dream come true 🙂 🙂

P.S: I hope the venting system is good for the kiln and it's not hot inside when it's being fired up o__o
P.P.S: The hotel for "loving"…. well that's one way to say it, Shizzy-nee :v :v

  5. This place looks absolutely amazing!! Suzuki -San is a true professional and loves his craft. Watching Shizuka eat and hearing her reviews is good for the soul. Itadakimasu!

  6. This chef puts his all into it and makes it look michelin star quality. Great for a japanese to also be open and honest about his past and haved moved on to this level of dining. It ain't cheap so Shizzy.. I'll buy the drinks if you pay for the meal, he he. Yoroshiku.

  7. Everything looks delicious and beautifully presented, except I was a little turned off by the shark fin. I know shark fin is a delicacy in China and other Asian countries, but the U.S. has banned the buying and selling of shark fins because of unsustainable overfishing and the inhumane practice of removing the fins of sharks and discarding the less profitable carcasses at sea. Does Japan obtain shark fins that are brought in naturally attached to the sharks? I wonder.

  8. This Restaurant looks amazing… I just wonder how one would go with only a very limited knowledge of speaking Japanese, ie, basic greetings and thank you etc…

  9. Work of art by the chef! Thank you for taking me back to Japan after 20+ years of living there.

  10. I ate here in May, incredible food and overall experience. I can’t recommend it highly enough. The lunch menu is crazy good value.

  11. Spent my final night in Japan in that neighborhood last year (albeit in a nightclub) but missed this – got to check it out!

  12. I normally enjoy watching your videos; however, shark fins have to be one of the most unethically harvested foods in the world. I had to stop watching the minute that you started eating that. I immediately lost interest.

  13. Good morning 🙏 🌄 Shizuka all the way from Nashville, Tennessee USA. Love ❤️ your hosting of the show. Next time if you could please share what a meal like this costs. I need this information before I book any restaurant.
