I traveled to Mojiko and Shimonoseki.
Mojiko Station is a wonderful station full of Taisho-era romance.
From near Mojiko Station, I boarded the Shiokazego trolley train and headed to Kanmon Strait Mekari Station. I enjoyed the view of the port while feeling the sea breeze.
The Kanmon Tunnel is an undersea tunnel that connects Mojiko Port and Shimonoseki.
I took an escalator down 60 meters underground, walked through a long passage.
Before I knew it, I was in Shimonoseki, and it felt like I had been warped.
The border between Yamaguchi Prefecture and Fukuoka Prefecture is halfway through the tunnel, so be sure to check it out.
Karato Market in Shimonoseki is a recommended spot where you can easily enjoy fresh sushi and pufferfish sashimi.
