  1. I pay about the same in Kamakura….i think the eggs and dairy products should be a little cheaper here than in Hawaii and California…where I’m from originally

  2. maybe cheaper than in US🇺🇸
    welcome back to JR東逗子🎉
Now huge typhoon will come. be aware
It’s still hot and humid in Yokohama.

  3. These are pretty good prices if you are shopping in a Canadian supermarket, and they are things a typical North American would buy at home. But… Japan's salary is lower, so I'd imagine a lot of families in Japan can't afford these items.

  4. Where I live, the vegetables and fruit are free. Farmers just leave them on my front door, or friends give them to me. As for grocery prices, it's about the same. Grapes are killing it now. I saw some grapes going for 3k yen a bunch! Of course, we get those for free.
You live in a big city, so you're going to be paying the piper. Just wait until the next rice prices hit. You don't know this, but a lot of the rice is flattened because of the rain and heat. This means a lot of rice is not going to be harvested. Sorry, but we in the sticks ain't going out there to help our 80 year old jii-chan to help harvest his rice in 30 degree temperatures for free.
Times have changed, and jii-chan is starting to realize that a free bag of rice isn't enough to get out there for two days in this heat to help him.
