WE’RE JASON AND NIKKI WYNN. A couple of explorers, modern-day documentarians, and cultivators of curiosity.
We’ve been chasing our curiosity around the world on wheels and keels since 2011. Why? Because curiosity is the key to unlocking life. It pushes us outside our comfort zone, softens our assumptions, and helps us embrace the great unknown. The more we let our curiosity lead the way, the more we discover about ourselves and the world around us.
Things We’re Most Curious About…
GETTING OFF-GRID
Our home is also our transportation and we spend weeks away from civilization and sometimes land. So self-reliance and sustainable living are a must. We’ve learned heaps about renewable energy, managing waste, creating safe drinking water and foraging for food. We carefully manage our resources and we’re always looking for new and better ways to do so.
TALKING TO STRANGERS
People are busy (even on remote islands) and travelers are a dime a dozen. It takes time to talk to strangers, and even more time to have a real connection. Going the extra mile to get to know someone is a commitment.
Which is why these are our most treasured experiences. Setting off into the world with curiosity as our guide and nature as our compass. We talk to strangers and accept hospitality without fear or reservations. Both giving and receiving.
ALTERNATIVE LIVING
These are people who are doing things differently. Forgoing the mainstream, seeking freedom and living on the margins. Creative, unique and inspiring people who challenge our ideas of home and community.
Our journey is ever-evolving but the mission remains the same: #CultivateCuriosity

That is such a huge risk that I cannot imagine taking. I think of Gracia Burnham and all she and her husband , Martin, endured. He was killed. Though not sailors, pretty much the area, and were taken hostage for months. The militants beheaded many. Just horrid.
Don’t eat watermelon or melon seeds. From Philadelphia!
If the seeds are black, they get slat. If they are white, they get eaten. From Southern California.
You gotta get this new AI vision system for boats. https://youtu.be/6uVaoD86Oic?si=DjTWw-2NHT28jaoW
Still love you guys!! I could actually tell you a couple nightmares stories if we had time. One was waiting to Transit through the Suez canal! That was the worst. I'm so glad it was them and actually made you feel safer!
Aotearoa NZ, we eat the seeds ya weirdos 😂
I swallow the watermelon seeds😂 – I am from Denmark. I never got a watermelon baby😂
I spend a lot of time in that area and I KNOW that the pirates are muslims.
The Philippines government has had problems with them for many years.
The current problems are from muslims from other countries stirring things up with the locals.
Using religion for negative purposes is disgusting no matter what religion it is.
Jason…..do something with your hair dude…lol
The sea is really hot at 32°C no fun for swimming, but luckily other fun things to do:)
Enjoy
Travel — its always something huh ? That down time in SAIL mode was pretty calming. . Nice !
I'm a Texan (East) and I've eaten gobs of watermelon seeds. I've never had a baby melon. Check out other fruit seeds you might have eaten.
Love your videos but I must say that I miss some good bikini shots in them. Spicy is nice!
Love your boat. Love your sailing performance. Double love your amazing tender. Last but not least, love your happy vibes!
Curious what kind of binoculars you are using in the video? And also, can you hyperlink the device Nikki is using with her phone? Would like to learn/read more about it. Thanks and love the videos.
Only just discovered you guys, sad that I didn't discover you sooner. There are many channels related to yachting and life aboard. Yours is definitely one of the best I've seen. I work in the yacht building industry and currently I'm researching what exactly are the most important aspects related to the day to day usability of a yacht. You'd think that this sort of thing would already be common knowledge and fully fleshed out but sadly it doesn't seem so 🙁
Anyway, stay safe, enjoy your journey and keep up the good work…👍
your suppose to eat the seeds,
Despite their small size, watermelon seeds pack a nutritional punch. Rich in nutrients like iron, folate, and niacin, they offer potential health benefits. Some even add watermelon seeds into their diet by making butter, flour, or roasting them for a crunchy snack
get out of there!!
I grew up in Texas If it has black seeds in it, we pick them out of the watermelon before eating (or demurely spit it into a napkin). But the ones that have white proto-seeds get eaten.
Perhaps using the repair time to install bright perimeter lights that you can turn on when being approached on low light conditions + security cameras so you can see what is going on outside, so next time something like that happens, you are able to turn on those perimeter lights and take a look at what exactly is going on outside.
Hi guys, your videos exploring all your triumphs and trials and your positivity are awesome. A word for you, at your recommendation I signed up for a vpn with surf shark, I did the 3 year bundle, sad to say it has never worked, at all, and even after spending time with their customer support, no luck, they even said they didn’t support my spectrum 5g network in the us, and that I’d have to go into the network and change settings in my router [which aren’t adjustable] and then there was no further support at all and they won’t offer a refund. I know it’s not your responsibility, but you should be aware.
You have 2 diesel motors ..why isnt that enough power ? Momma you are cute.
Haha, thanks for posting.
Do we split or swallow?!?!?!
A Dr once chuckled when asked if there was protein value in swallowing… sometimes swallow and sometimes spit. Louisiana and Pennsylvania aboard here… Er wait, whaddya you mean, watermelon seeds… Haha.
"Advance notice" if reachable sounds pretty good also… Served us well during early COVID days.
Cheers, SV Good Karma as Grins.
In America we only buy seedless watermelons .
Spit out black hard seeds… obviously! White soft…no worries. Was told the same thing when I was a child. From Missouri USA.
I need to spit out the seeds, or else the watermelon will grow on the bubble gum that also lives in my stomach for 7 years. From California
I will be in Cebu Sept 14-thru the first week of October. If you guys are still in the area
Oregon, USA and we were told the same about the watermelon seeds, but I was a rebel and ate the watermelon seeds anyway. Spitting is gross and it wasn’t my thing. No baby watermelons though. I am pretty sure it’s a USA thing.
Wow that was a scary wake up call..
The coast guard with no radio…what!
No we do not eat the water melon seeds…we’re in the UK.
Also told don’t eat them, they’ll grow in you…true or false….I don’t know but if ya mum says don’t eat them, then you don’t!! 👍🇬🇧
You're not just pretty faces, even though Nikki is perfect! You two know what you're doing which makes it fun to watch with great editing!
North Carolina. We got the watermelon seed/baby story.
I eat the seeds, I am from Kentucky and yes I was told not to eat them as a child.. however, in my research about ED, I found that eating watermelon and especially the rind and seeds can help alleviate mild to medium ED without using any other meds.. just saying!!
Just an observation. I was in Pai Thailand (the land of smiles) during the exact same time that the local police were all being busted for a prostitution ring. True story. Nice and police don't particularly mean good.
🤨 Don't let it go to your head.💃🏼 You are very beautiful. Serious. ❤ LOL
ah, so close to our home in San Jose De Buenavista, Antique Philippines, just north of your anchorage in Anini-y. Safe journey.
i eat watermelon seeds I'm from usa
I eat watermelon seeds, it’s too hard to get them all out. I’m from the Netherlands but now live in Canada.
I buy seedless watermelon…woo woo fancy me.
We have seed spitting contests. Go Arizona!!
What was that George Foreman like appliance you were coming cooking in?
Only spit out the seeds if we are having a seed spitting distance contest or saving to plant again. Otherwise eat them.
I am definitely not a seed eating savage😄 I'm from Maine. Now, if you could toast them like pumpkin seeds(can you?), I would eat them.
Flood lights for protection!
I have observed overtime that you are the most reckless sailors on YouTube.
