My First BEACH in INDIA ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ Relaxing Week in Varkala, Kerala – Gym, Yoga, Sunsets

In this India Travel Vlog, I decided to CHILL! After spending a couple months solo traveling India really fast through all different climates and landscapes, I needed a little break. Varkala, Kerala was the perfect place to relax for a little while! Varkala is a stunning cliffside beach that has everything you need to relax: a good gym, tons of yoga studios, massages, a gorgeous clean beach, amazing sunsets, and everything within walking distance. I didn’t really vlog during my time there as I just wanted to take a break. On my last day I threw together this little video to remember the amazing time I had here!! Unfortunately I spent too much time laying on the beach the day before and got a little burnt ๐Ÿ™ˆ so there was no tanning in this video, however every single day I was in Varkala I was laying on the beach in a bikini with no issues (except for random people asking for selfies – the only time I said NO). If you want somewhere good to chill I definitely recommend Varkala!

  1. Whatโ€™s up with Indians and selfies with foreigners? Havenโ€™t you guys grown tired of it already, and isnโ€™t it considered cheesy to post selfies with foreigners? I havenโ€™t seen this obsession in any other Asian country. This is a maddening trend.

  2. There is Alcohol but we don't sell it in shops you have to go to Government stores or there are Bars which serve alcohol. In Kerala 90% people consume Alcohol but drinking alcohol in public is prohibited just for the safety of the people especially tourists ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

  3. Go down to Mangalore. Thereโ€™s a nice Thanner Bhavi Beach.. avoid weekends as it gets very crowded on Saturdays and Sundays. Thereโ€™s the Saint Aloysius Chapel with frescoes commissioned by Italian Jesuit priests in the 1800s. And thereโ€™s a small cute local museum too. Thereโ€™s the beautiful Gokarnath Temple. Mangalore is well known for its Ice Creams and Local Sea food cuisine. I can tell you a lot more if you are interested.

  4. uneducated indians ask for selfie and irritate foriegn travelers ,as a indian my advise to foriegn travelers kindly ignore or just say a big sorry ,dont entertain these people ,unfortunateley few indians have no commom sense .

  5. Hello.
I watch vlogs your that makes me feel seeing places virtually yet with elements of reality. Also, you appear to me as very cool person who exactly knows how feel and interact with surroundings. Wish you luck for your explorations.

  6. Varkala is a mellow and beautiful beach town compared to the beaches in Goa, which tend to be aimed at partying and gambling. Varkala is known as the Banaras of South India and hence holds immense religious significance, so the vibe is sorta spiritual. I like the fact that Varkala is relatively clean. Indian beaches have reputation for being dirty and unsafe but Varkala doesn't seem to have that problem. Kerala is considered one of the safest place in South Asia for women owing to its educated populace and historically cosmopolitan coastal culture but unfortunately it gets hit with the reputational issues of the wider Indian subcontinent when it comes to women's safety. You do get the occasional miscreants but they're rare and even when they pester you it's usually for something innocuous like selfies and nothing malicious like you see in rest of India. In general, the West Coast and Southern India are safe, developed and cosmopiltan, Kerala being the most South-West Indian state means that it has very South East Asian vibes (Vietnam, Thailand etc).

Fun fact: Varkala is a popular digital nomad destination. Travis Kalecki founded UBER in Varkala in 2007 as a part of his WFH vacation.

  7. Varkala is no more ideal for foreigners. These travellers from Tamil Nadu make it dirty and noisy.keep away from Tamil people

  8. Did you manage to visit Tamil Nadu on this trip or you went to Goa straight from Kerala? Just curious. Love your vlogs!
