Typhoon Update from Diamond Princess- Stuck at Sea

This is a quick update on the situation involving Typhoon Shanshan which is currently making landfall in #Japan .

Since boarding the #diamondprincess on August 25, we have been sailing out to sea to avoid the impact of this storm in hopes that we can make it safely to our ports of call however Kobe and Kochi were immediately cancelled as we moved away from the storm’s track.

Unfortunately there has been more changes as we spend our fifth day at sea.

Our original itinerary was:

Tokyo (Yokohama)
Kobe
Kochi
Hiroshima
The Kammon Straights
Busan, South Korea
Sasebo
Shimizu (Mount Fugi)

Hiroshima is the latest port to be canceled however we have a replacement port which we will bring you updates about in an upcoming video.

For now, we just want to give an update on the current situation onboard and with the itinerary.

Be sure to subscribe to see our upcoming vlogs from this cruise which now looks completely different than originally planned.

We’re thinking of those in Japan being impacted by the storm.

In the meantime, we will try to provide some real time updates on our socials:

  1. We just left the Diamond Princess on August 25th. We missed our first port due to a Typhoon. The winds were strong and the rain was horizontal. We outran a second typhoon. Lucky for us only one port was missed. I hope you get Togo back to Japan. It is a truly wonderful place.
