Miho Universal Beach 2024, “Experiences for All” supported by Japan Guide Agency
Japan Guide Agency, Japan’s largest tour guide agency, is promoting “Experiences for All,” a barrier-free project with the goal of opening ‘Every Experience for Everyone’ in Japan.
As part of the “Experiences for All” project, the barrier-free event, Miho Universal Beach 2024 was held on August 18, 2024 at Shizuoka city in Japan.
What is Universal Beach?
Universal Beach is a barrier-free event that allows people with disabilities, family members, friends, small children, and the elderly to enjoy the sea in a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. The Miho Universal Beach Executive committee provided support and various items such as Mobi-mats (roll out mats for wheelchairs), Mobi-Chairs (floating beach wheelchair), and accessible catamaran yachts so that everyone could enjoy the beach.
People from all walks of life made up the over 130 participants and volunteer staff joined the sunny, summer beach day.

当プロジェクト支援の一環として、2024年8月18日（日）障がい者から健常者まで、子どもから高齢者まで、誰もが一緒に楽しめるバリアフリーイベント『三保ユニバーサルビーチ2024』が静岡市三保海岸で開催されました。当日は130名を超える参加者・ボランティアスタッフが一緒になって晴天の夏の1日を楽しみました。
ユニバーサルビーチとは？
ユニバーサルビーチとは、障がいを持っている人、家族や仲間、小さなお子さんやご高齢の人まで、みんなが気軽に安⼼して海を楽しんでもらえるバリアフリーイベントです。
三保ユニバーサルビーチ実行委員会では、みんなの「できた！」につながるように、モビマット（移動補助モビリティマット）やモビチェア（水陸両用車いす）、カタマランヨット（双胴船ヨット）といった様々なアイテムとアイデアを駆使して、ユニバーサルビーチを実現しています。
