Kessaku YAKAGE
During the Edo period, Yakage Town in Okayama Prefecture was a bustling post town along the Sanyo Road, known for its many inns. The town’s central area, designated as a Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings in 2020, still retains many historic structures, preserving the essence of its past when daimyo processions filled the streets.
Kessaku YAKAGE is a grand residence, approximately 100 years old, located in a prominent corner of this preservation district. Carefully maintained by generations of owners, the house and its traditional Japanese garden exude a special charm that modern buildings simply cannot replicate.
This cherished property has been thoughtfully restored to preserve its original appearance and atmosphere as much as possible, while also offering modern comforts. Relax in the traditional inner chambers, enjoy the view of the magnificent five-needle pine from the sauna and bath, or dine in the nostalgic dining room that echoes the early 20th century. Experience the unique blend of history and comfort, and savor a truly special moment.
