This free MSG factory tour is probably @unclerogershorts dream travel destination | Yokohama, Japan

Did you know you can do a free tour of the Ajinomoto MSG factory? They have 3 sites in Japan: Yokohama, Kyushu, and Mie. They have multiple courses, including the MSG course, the Knorr soup course, and the Hon Dashi course, some of which includes cooking classes and, of course, tasters.
This tour is entirely in Japanese, and we did find it slightly unstructured with little communication especially during the viewing of the factory floor. We found it to mostly be watching through the panes, which possibly means that having little Japanese knowledge won’t affect you all too much, but we were hoping to gain more insight into the process and the machinery. But that is always top secret, so they would have been quite careful with their presentation anyway.
If you are still interested, it’s not a bad way to spend about an hour if you’re in Yokohama and looking to kill some time.
