JAPAN: Nagano Prefecture (Yamanouchi Onsen) Just wow. WOW. LOVED visiting the SNOW MONKEYS!

We spent two days in this onsen town in Nagano, Prefecture. We stayed at a traditional Ryokan and loved every second of it—the meals and the hot springs. THE MONKEYS WERE AN ADDED BONUS – It was super easy to get to by train and a local bus up to the mountain. Hot springs are life-giving and healing (oh—and incredibly hot—like burning hot!). It is a worthwhile trip from Tokyo (not too far to travel—a couple of hours only). The town is quaint, with many restaurants, hot springs and even a ping pong (table tennis) rec room, which we used. It still felt like you got a taste of the countryside and mountains in Japan. Follow along our journey – subscribe, like, comment and reach out if you want information about this 25 day itinerary!
