Mt Fuji Day Hike
On September 1, 2023, I once again climbed the magnificent Mt. Fuji.
This makes it my 9th climb overall and 7th successful summit.
This mountain isn’t super technical, but it is fairly steep, and no matter how many times I climb it, I’m always left feeling absolutely exhausted. Still, it is a must do for all hikers in Japan. Even though it is a popular tourist destination, don’t forget it is also the highest mountain in Japan, and should be treated with respect and reverence. There are still many accidents every year from careless or unprepared hikers. Even during this climb, one of our team had to turn back after the 8th station. As disappointing as it may have felt for him, it was the right choice. Safety is number one here.
