I live in Vietnam and Japan most of the year……I beg to differ with this video. I have integrated with both cultures….best thing I have ever done!
I've lived in Japan for a total of 40 years. While I don't disagree with your negative comments, you seem to have missed the point. The mistake is to attempt to become a bona fide member of Japanese society, because this usually ends in tears of frustration. The trick is to always remain an outsider, attempts to integrate with always end in disappointment. So don't even think of regular paid employment, remain free-lance, a consultant. Diversify by visiting a dozen companies a week. Sure, the golden days when a straight visa was a licence to print money are a distant memory, however, if you are looking to relocate to a country where your retirement savings/income go a long way, you'd be well advised to check out Japan.
