Deep Creek Lake ILCA Laser Invitational Regatta in Maryland

Join us for an exciting, fun weekend of competitive racing in a relaxed mountain setting on Deep Creek Lake in Western Maryland. Each year sailors from Fishing Bay, Virginia; Annapolis, Maryland; Washington D.C., Pennsylvania and Ohio escape the summer heat to join the Deep Creek ILCA (formerly known as Laser) fleet to sail in fresh water and cool breeze. Enjoy a 10 minute sail to the race course, intense racing, quick lunch break, more racing, then relax on the deck with a cold beer or soda. The racing format consists of two fleets – Open and Radial. In the Open fleet – Adults or Juniors racing either standard (full) rigs or radial rigs that can be interchanged throughout the regatta. The Radial fleet Adults or Juniors (sailors who will not be 19 years or older in 2024) sailing with radial or 4.7 rigs that can be interchanged throughout the regatta. The radial fleet may be started with the Open class if entries do not warrant a separate start.

Camping within 10 minutes walking distance from the club house on club member’s property is available to registered competitors. Nearby hotels, motels, bed-and-breakfasts, house rentals, and other camping sites are located in Oakland, McHenry and state forests. https://www.visitdeepcreek.com/

The entry fee is $56. The entry fee June 24 and after is $80. Participation gifts are not guaranteed for registrations received after June 24.

We are currently not offering a Saturday dinner option as part of the regatta fee.
However, there is going to be Dinner at the club on Saturday night. Menu (is subject to change),
Jerk chicken, red beans and rice, Jamaican style, steamed, plantain, Mojo dipping sauce
$20.00. Registrants who are not members of Deep Creek Lake Sailing Association
(DCLSA) if you want to participate in the Dinner or Lunches at DCLSA, please register for
the dinner and or lunches when signing up for the Regatta. Cut off for signing up for
dinner is July 11, 2024.

1000: First warning signal, races to follow Results will be posted ASAP after last racing. Regatta
chair will gather winners for photos and awards.
No race shall start after 1430 on Sunday.
The total number of races will be at the discretion of the race committee.

AWARDS – Prizes will be awarded to
Open Fleet: At least first through fifth place, first place Great Grand Master, and first place Legend
Radial Fleet: At least first through third place
