  1. Japan is very nice and clean country…. The only flaw is everything so … expensive….esp for me …asian Indonesia

  2. Great video, Paul. It is so odd; I have hated subscribing to Takashii for longer than I have been watching you. I love how everyone that I follow has a connection with other YouTubers; you guys are truly becoming a "community," and the diversity is amazing. Thank you, Paul

  3. Lol, Takashi said it's easy to get around .I just downloaded the Tokyo subway map.😮it's still making my head spin.

  4. So basically, it takes longer to make new friends as a foreigner in Japan, and you'd have to be the type to also be okay being on your own. My attention hungry friends would hate living there if that's the case. Me? I'd probably be fine.

  5. Bangkok and Tokyo are very different on so many levels. Takashi claims that for USD 500 you can get a similar apartment as that in BKK. Not even close! I lived in Tokyo for 10 yrs in a major area paying USD 800 and it was one large room (25mtr) with a tiny area for cooking, unit shower/bath/sink+ toilet as the bathroom. No balcony, no pool, no lobby, no gym_ just basic 4 floor building. BKK is much more advanced with condos and amenities and so cheap and well equipped. Food even now with the weak yen is much more costly in Japan than BKK. So just wanted to set the records straight. Thanks Paul for your collaboration.❤

  6. As a very introverted guy I love Japan but also love Thailand 😂 Next year I wanna move to one of the two but it's SO difficult to decide which one.

  7. I like the way Takashi describes and articulates things. I just got back from a 2 week trip to Japan he is spot on with all of his points. I have been subconsciously thinking about these things but unable to explain them and he did that perfectly. Especially when comparing the introverted society vs extroverted society. Also the politeness culture vs the friendliness culture.

  8. Good job guys ! nice to see you 2 having this conversation … I'm in Bangkok for 3 months and going to Tokyo for 3 months I will see the difference between the 2 cities countries . I'm from Brazil hahah

  9. BKK top hotels like Four Seasons, MO are more expensive than their counterparts in Tokyo lol. elite living in Bangkok is actually pricier

  10. Tokyo isn’t that expensive to be honest. I lived there 3 years. And you guys both are comparing to USD. Bruh 1 dollar is close to 150 JPY. Back in 2010 it was at 100 or less…

The exchange rate for USD is so good now that in US Dollars it sounds less, but convert it to JPY it’s a lot more.

I would say quality of life in Tokyo is much much better and it is affordable. The only thing that has much worse value is the living situation.

For USD on a Per Square Meter basis, Tokyo is much more expensive. You can of course get a cheaper place in city center, but the size, the amenities, the age of the building, just can’t compare with Bangkok. On a Per Square Meter basis, Bangkok offers more value.

But for a more well rounded life, higher quality of foods, younger and more educated international expat crowd, and safer streets, more innovation, better business opportunities, etc Tokyo wins hands down. The only thing is accommodation.

  11. As Thais, I regurally watch Takashi's work. HIs interview give many aspects of ppl life. It's really impress to explore ppl's life thru his interview. My gf is working in Yamaguchi. So I have to go to Japan during the end of this year. Finally, wish you two happy and healthy young man. Thank you very much krub. 🙏

  12. it's not energy, it's tataemae ….the japanese tataemae is too big that's why you think you lose energy

  13. Enjoy both your channels 💯 good topic for this video and good to see you two together. Japan is my favorite country to visit and Thailand my favorite for living.
    ‘Get lost in the sauce!’

  14. No no. I found a LOT of Thai people cannot speak English. Even going to 7-11 they don’t speak English. Taxi drivers nope. Maybe if you go to a large mall. Or to a place where a lot of foreigners hang out

I find it interesting that he says japanese people are naturally more introverts and it takes a lot of effort and energy to talk to someone else yet his channel is mostly interviewing and “talking” to Japanese people who seem to be ok opening up and exert energy to talk to him
