Best Tsukemen in Kawasaki? San San Nana Serves Rich Tori Gyokai Tsukemen

Tsukemen San San Nana (つけめん 三三㐂) is a tsukemen ramen specialty ramen shop that sells chicken and seafood broth based tori gyokai tsukemen near Kawasaki station. Arguably, San San Nana is selling some of the best tsukemen around Kawasaki station, with better ranked shops like Miyamoto already being a few train stops away.

As mentioned above, the broth at San San Nana is made with lots of collagen rich chicken, which leads to a quite thick and viscous soup. This is combined with lots of dried seafood components, of which niboshi is clearly dominant, but not overpowering in the resulting soup. The broth is combined with an impactful shoyu tare soy sauce seasoning. The end result is a soup that nicely clings to the noodles and provides a hearty and rich tsukemen experience, that reminds me a bit of a great roast gravy from back home.

San San Nana is part of the Gyoku group, which runs a variety of different shops such as the Gyoku named shops which specialize in tonkotsu gyokai tsukemen or the Barasoba named shops which have miso tonkotsu ramen as their main item. You can find out more about the Gyoku group here:

  1. Thick and rich tsukemen fans, what do you prefer: Tonkotsu gyokai pork based broths or tori gyokai chicken based broths? Let me know in the comments!

  2. Man, why do all th great tsukemen places have to be so far out? Having said that, its always worth the trip. Went to Michi, Itto, Tomita last trip. Already have a bunch more but added this one too.

  3. Have you seen many ramen shops converting their ticket machines to accept SUICA or CC?
