ENGLISH FAN FIRST TIME Watching a FOOTBALL Game in MALAYSIA (Penang FC) πŸ‡²πŸ‡Ύ

It’s time to watch our first football match in Malaysia! Whilst travelling, I’ve been missing watching the beautiful game, so as we were in Georgetown, Penang for a few weeks, I decided to check if they had a football team.

Lo and behold they do: Penang FC. It was Penang FC’s first home game of the Malaysia Super League campaign and they were facing Terengganu FC. Could they get an early win in the season? Well, let’s find out.

Join us at the City Stadium in Georgetown, Penang as I watch my first every Malaysia Super League game. It promises to be a good one, will it deliver?

  1. The Penang state football team was founded in 1921 – one of Malaysia's oldest state football teams – but it was administered by the Penang state's football association then.

Until the restructuring of the league and its changes in regulations which requires all teams to be independent from their respective state football associations to align with the Asian Football Confederation licensing standards, thus the Penang football team was rebranded as Penang Football Club in late 2020.
