今回は「北限の栗林」として知られる
小樽手宮公園に来てみました。
小樽市の桜の名所ということでシーズンには
この辺り一面桜が咲き乱れるのですが、
本日は6月近いということですっかり
初夏の雰囲気で、新緑が目に心地良いです。
道なりに少し歩き、車道からちょっと外れて
林の中に入り込みますと、公園の下側が
切り立った崖になっておりまして、
ちょっとした展望台みたいな感じで
ここから小樽市を一望することができます。
小樽の眺望といえば天狗山か旭展望台が
有名ですが、個人的には手宮公園からの
景色も捨てたものではないと思うのですが、
如何でしょうか。
ちなみに真下は先日ご紹介した小樽市
総合博物館で、ここから蒸気機関車が
走るのを見ることが出来たりします。
天気が良ければ、銭函のドリームビーチ
の方まで見渡すことが出来ます。
さらに道なりに進みますと樹木が
生い茂った沢のような場所に出ます。
ここは近隣地域で昔から「清水の沢」と
呼ばれる、湧き水の出る場所で、
昔はちょっとした池のようになっていて
子供がザリガニ等を取ったりもできましたが、
現在は殆ど水流も無くなり、沢に降りる
道も閉鎖されてしまって「単なるガケ」に
なっております。
この清水の沢の底に小さなお宮のような
ものがあるのですが、これはかつて
明治天皇が小樽を訪問した際、
飲料水としてこの沢の水を献上した
記念として設立されたと言われています。

This park is for cherry blossoms in Otaru, cherry blossoms bloom on all around in spring,
Today is a completely atmosphere of early summer, the fresh green is comfortable to the eye.
Along the road a little walk, and enter into the forest.
The lower side of the park has become like the little gazebo, and can admire the Otaru city from here.
In general, speeking of the beautifull view of Otaru although “Tenguyama” or “Asahi observatory” is famous,
but personally, also the view from Temiya park I think it’s very nice,

And go further along the road, we get to places like the trees were overgrown valley.
This place is called as a “valley of Shimizu” from neighboring residents, and had been known to come out the spring water.
In the old days, this place was like a little pond the children were able to take the crayfish etc .
In present, most of the water flow was lost, and the road to go down to the valley has also been closed.
There is a small Monument to the bottom of this valley.
This is once said that Emperor Meiji was established as a memorial that was conceded the water of this valley as drinking water during a visit to Otaru.
