Cape Nagasakibana is the southernmost point of the Satsuma Peninsula in Kagoshima Prefecture in Japan. The most characteristic view in this place is the view of the nearby Mount Kaimon, which is a volcano 924 meters high above sea level. This mountain is called the “Mount Fuji of the Satsuma Peninsula” because of its conical shape. A popular photo spot is the heart-shaped frame, which includes a view of the mountain on the one side and of the lighthouse on the other side. On the way to the lighthouse, you can see a statue of a fisherman from the famous Japanese fairy tale “Urashima Taro”. There is also a shrine nearby that is related to this fairy tale and it has become popular as a place for the power of matchmaking and luck in love. The cape is also known as a place where sea turtles lay their eggs in the summer.
