Mount Fuji views | daytrip from Tokyo with the Hakone Free Pass | Open-Air Museum | Japan vlog 🗻
Join us on an exciting daytrip to Hakone! 🌟
Today we start our daytrip in Tokyo Station. We used our JR Pass and got onboard the JR Tokaido Shinkansen; this bullet train took us to Odawara Station and this is where we bought the Hakone Free Pass. The pass cost 5,000 yen and we used it in just one day.
After Odawara Station, we took a train in the Odakyu Line to Hakone Yumoto Station
In Hakone Yumoto Station, we got onboard the Hakone Tozan Railway towards Gora Station.
In Gora Station we waited for a Cable car, and then we got on the famous Hakone Ropeway.
The Hakone Ropeway is amazing! You will get incredible views of the mountains and volcanic terrain as you approach Owakudani.
Owakudani is the area around a crater that was created over 3,000 years ago! Here we enjoyed views, snacks, and the famous blackened egg that was made in the sulfurous vapors of the valley.
After waiting too much for Mt Fuji to appear, we decided to continue our day trip towards Togendai station where a sightseeing cruise awaited us to cross Lake Ashi.
The cruise is fashioned after an old pirate ship, but don’t worry, you won’t pillage a village but instead relax whilst taking in the views.
Arriving in Hakonemachi station after the cruise, we decided to walk towards Onshi Park because Mount Fuji was visible!
At the end of our daytrip we took a bus up the mountain to the Hakone Open-Air Museum! This museum succesfully blends landscaping and art, and exhibits numerous outdoor sculptures that blend into nature. You can also visit the famous Picasso Exhibition Hall, which houses several works by the italian artist.
