  1. ~$14 for a meal for 2 and since there's no tipping in Japan, that's super cheap. It costs me $12 not including taxes and tip to get a single bowl of ramen here in Canada.

  2. I literally could not shut up about this place when I had it when my parents and I went to Japan. I had the ginger pork bowl with cheese and ohhh my god, it was amazing.

  3. If you havent yet you should try Pepper Lunch! I miss that so much along with this! My mom can make a MEAN 3 cheese beef bowl.

  4. i honestly never understood why people think that putting cheese in food is weird? Like, TONS of asians do that, it's absolutely normal. Cheese totally makes any dish just that much better, and all the people fighting it need to shut up and try it first

  5. LOL, my favorite ever! You two nailed it! Sukiya is definitely late night, total abandon CHOW. And the cheese! Yes! I’ve never even gone there as I was so embarrassed but you have EMBOLDENED me to DO it, just DO it! Yes, yes, yes!!!!

  6. I adore the non artsy food videos. Makes me feel 17 watching your videos all over again

  7. I just arrived from my travel to Japan… Gyudon just touched my soul, so beautiful 😢. But I went more to matsuya

  8. today I went to sukiya since one opened near where I live in Mexico and let me tell you , sukiyas menu is sooooo different here in mexico , a lot of spicy gyudon and ramen can be found here , gyudon with siracha and cream cheese , gyudon with serrano peppers , etc . if you guys come to mexico don't miss sukiya you'll find something quite different of what you're used to in japan 🙂

  9. I loved every food moment I had in Japan during the two weeks I visited recently EXCEPT the cheap beef bowl thing shown in this video. My buddy had lived in Fukuoka and swore by them… I thought it was disgusting.

  10. people trash Cheese on Ramen cup… DUDE IS A FCREAKING RAMEN CUP… is not a FILET MIGNON !

  11. There is something very special about “mediocre quality goodness “ 😂 also, I’m moving to Taiwan in November and just got so excited when I saw not only several Sukiyas in Taipei, but also a Coco Curry! Can’t wait to try them finally 🙂

  12. ommg yeah because you TOTALLY didn't learn how to put american cheese on your ramyun from a Korean right? TOTALLY just wanted to Americanize ramyun and ruin it. You guys have been in Asia for like what a decade or something? But it must just be that you don't know how to appreciate the culture and cuisine.
Couldn't possibly be that Japanese and Korean people do things they enjoy not just things exotic and ethnic or whatever, that would silly -_-

There's a commercial running in Canada right now and the headline is, "Eating eggs for lunch isn't weird, you're weird for thinking it's weird"
and I think it's pretty much the same premise.

  13. I went to Japan with my friends this past winter, and one time when we were hungry in Shinjuku after a really long day, I was telling them we should eat Gyudon since that was the most convenient restaurant. My friend's boyfriend was being um, a total b hole, and kept arguing how he would rather go hungry than eat cheap bad food. Was totally shocked and our group separated. Too bad for them, we ate delicious, affordable gyudon and they didnt.

  14. The man whom Jake that visited Japan for ascetic practices of the welding in Japan from Virginia said to ached in old days. He is to have gone Sukiya for lunch of one day together though I went along a CoCo Ichiban and the tonkotu ramen shop for a long time every night. Jake orders curry and rice, and what I ordered by addition when I give a salesclerk this as soon as I ordered "カレギュウ" where a beef bowl was united with curry and rice, and カレギュウ came in front of us stays in the great impression. As for the curry and rice, it will be difficult to eat "カレギュウ" even if I return to the United States though it will be eaten.
    ※カレギュウ=curry and gyudon

  15. So many people like to jump to conclusions..
Those bowls look incredible though, I shouldn't watch this before I've even eaten…

  16. Sukiya is booty. The tier list goes Matsuya > Yoshinoya > Convenience Store > Sukiya. Their curry is straight garbo and the meat is trash tier quality.

  17. I'm with Simon, there's nothing more comforting than a warm bowl of mushy goodness.
