It’s Friday after work, and I’ve traveled from Minami-Gyotoku Station to Gyotoku Station, both located in Ichikawa City, Chiba Prefecture. Ichikawa City is known as a commuter town with approximately 47% of its residents commuting to Tokyo’s 23 wards. Before the opening of Myoden and Minami-Gyotoku Stations, Gyotoku Station had a significantly higher number of passengers. Additionally, the area was once known for the Gyotoku Salt Fields. Although there are no remnants of that era now, there are still some old-fashioned shopping streets with nostalgic streetlights, giving the area a slightly retro feel. There are also various commercial facilities, making it a convenient place.
