We eat our way through Osaka, the kitchen of Japan, in this epic food tour!
From Osaka classics like okonomiyaki and takoyaki to special finds like fluffy pancakes—we try it all.
We thoroughly enjoyed all the yummy food we had during our time in Osaka. There is just so much to try and so much variety. It’s no wonder why they call it the kitchen of Japan.

Anda the kitchen of Japan and it is czy and there’s lots of crazy things to eat so let’s get into it and try all the food Osaka has to offer starting here in [Music] bburg our first stop to get food no Saka is some Japanese Fried Chicken tasted maybe lemon or something we noticed that last night we got chicken from a convenience store and it had lemon in it breading’s pretty good it’s a little dry the chicken is a little dry but overall not bad for the second stop we made is right beside the fried chicken place is strawberry Mania we had one of these in Tokyo and they never get old they have a lot of locations and we can’t whenever we see it we just have to get one because it’s so simple but so good it’s a simple candy coating on the outside with some very very sweet strawberries let’s take a bite and see how red they are [Music] inside just as good as the first first time so yummy just be careful when you eat these that the glass shards don’t cut you because they can be kind of sharp but really awesome thing to eat as a sweet treat only for 500 yen next on the list the little simple egg tart I think it was 300 Yen 340 something like that um we’re hoping this is a lot like what we had back in Toronto these this really nice Portuguese egg tart I wouldn’t call it an egg tart it’s definitely like a custard tart has a nice custard filling and the outside is so flaky and layered like almost like a felo dough but super buttery crispy and delicious this is a good [Music] all right so now we have the famous 10 Yen cheese stuffed kayaki dough coin and it cost 500 yen even though it says 10 Yen on it Soo and on the back it has a really cool um Shrine all right this is a famous one because of the cheese pool let’s see how it pull the dough just tastes like pancake better to me the cheese dough is good it’s not mozzarella it is mozzarella it’s mozzarella thing it’s mozzarella really yeah okay the cheese is supposedly mozzarella but to me it has more of a deep rich flavor than mozzarella [Music] we probably got one of the most notable dishes here in doam buur and maybe even in Osaka well one of the top ones and that is Taco Yaki these things are everywhere there’s so many different places that sell them but we went to the one with a cute little octopus Lantern and basically if you don’t know a taco Yaki is it’s these little fried balls that they’re constantly like moving with their Chopsticks and forming them into these little balls that I think might be pancakey I don’t know and um they have octopus pieces in them that’s what uh Taco Yaki means it has octopus in it and I have never had octopus before have had squid so interested to see how this Compares they top it off with some kind of brown sauce and mayo and green onions I’m I’m really excited to try this never had anything even remotely similar to this before I’m worried about it being too hot it’s quite steamy and I’ve seen many people end up burning their tongue on these things cuz they take them straight off the iron I guess you could say to uh serve it smells like barbecue sauce on the outside that must be with the brown sauce is something like that they also have the option of soy sauce okay let’s hope I don’t burn myself it’s chewy but it doesn’t really taste too fishy kind of chickeny it almost tastes like um it’s been on the grill the octopus odd combination it tastes barbecue Saucy and you have the charcoal from the um octopus and then the inside is kind of liquidy still I don’t know it’s not my favorite thing but it’s interesting thing to try Okay so our next stop is this ice cream place I think it’s called creia cremia ice cream I told Rachel we probably should have just went for the beef instead it looked like they had good wagu it didn’t look like an ice cream restaurant uh but the nice guy came out and gave us a little cone so we just got vanilla let’s give it a try wow wow very rich we’ve been having some Hokkaido milk or or ice cream thing and their Hokkaido milk has a lot seems like it has a lot of butter fat in it so it tastes very rich very good I was surprised I thought it was not going to be that great but wow it’s actually pretty good I agree with Matt this ice cream is super super good it’s going to be hard to share this thing we don’t have to share it but just because we’re eating so many things we kind of need to share all this food just to eat all the things but the cone um it’s like a really nice waffle cone but almost tastes like between a waffle cone and shortbread cookie it’s super super yummy all around amazing ice cream cone hey future mad here we actually went inside that place where we saw the wagu be on the sign and talk to the guy and got ice cream there’s a a little bit of a crazy process cuz he said that they were like reserved and need reservation but he didn’t speak English and we don’t speak Japanese so I walked away and looked online and found through Google you could actually reserve it so I reserved the table came back to him using Google translate showing them that we had a reservation we were able to sit down so we got a wagu stripy and we got Tatu Ramen uh and what’s really interesting about that place is everything is smoked so they had a smoked dig smoked uh Fork in the ramen which I’m not 100% sure if I like i’ like maybe Ramen without the smokiness um but the Wagg you steak was super Year Day Wasabi and salt on this side and it was just amazing so definitely if you’re in the area I would highly recommend that go online and make reservation if you have [Music] to last thing we’re trying tonight is melon Pawn a melon Pawn it’s just a bread and then I think they coat it with something and bake it and yeah I don’t really know what to expect but this is super light and fluffy and it’s like crushing it’s so delicate it’s crushing under my hand so let’s try it super warm that’s good it’s so simple it’s just a nice light bread with a little crunch y sweet top it’s simple but so tasty and I love that it’s warm especially when it’s raining like this well this thing is so buttery and delicious but I know this isn’t the end of our food uh we’re just going to call in a night tonight and tomorrow we’re going to have another day full of more goodies so we’ll catch you when it’s bright and early in just a couple seconds [Music] all right it’s a new day in aaka on our food tour and what I have right in front of me is another ice cream cone not made of ice cream made of meat so it looks like an ice cream con we actually saw this on Google Maps I’m not even sure what the name of the place is we’ll probably have to put it on the screen or in the description but I guess it’s just like pieces of roast beef over a mashed potatoes so we’re thinking should taste good the white part part looks I taste a little bit of it tastes like Ranch maybe Ranch powder and something there’s like lots of little pieces [Music] here yeah tastes like roast beef roast beef with the white Ranch yeah pretty good we’re going to have to get to the mashed potatoes now no oh the mashed potatoes are cold I was not expecting I used to warm mashed potato it’s good for mashed potatoes I’m not used to eating mashed potatoes cold though but hey it’s really cool it’s a novelty M well try it [Music] [Applause] wow [Music] so we just went to a food spot that I think might be the top spot that we’re going to find in Osaka it was amazing it was a fluffy pancake place so the pancakes are like that thick and we got a strawberry pancake that was super fruity and sweet amazing and then we got um a boba sweet cream uh pancake and it was so yummy it was like caramelized but like a little bit of saltiness to it and then creaminess from the cream cheese and the bobas were cooked to Perfection it was amazing we also got a drink there that was good and like a typical Breakfast Platter that was good literally everything there was like 10 out of 10 Stars so really really recommend this place and it’s super super cute inside [Music] our next stop at the oaka we went to I think it’s pronounced coron Burger we just got the cormon regular burger they had the curry Burger which was sold out which I think is their most popular um but really good burger nothing spectacular well cooked meat uh they gave us like a little side salad which had like lemon and it lemon juice which was pretty good uh pretty good uh french fries to their like wedge french fries so if you’re in the area definitely recommend it nothing the right home about but it’s a solid Burger [Music] so you’ll have to excuse us I’m sorry I know this doesn’t look like the bustling streets of Osaka we’re in our Airbnb just stopped at our last food stop here for some okonomiyaki which is very notorious here in Osaka I think it even originated here in Osaka basically it’s this egg cabbage pancake kind of thing usually with some kind of meat mixed in and I think typically it’s Seafood cuz most of the ones we see are Seafood but we found a place that did pork so we tried there and it was really really good it reminded us kind of like a and egg bake that has hash browns in it cuz the cabbage is like shredded and yeah it was something totally different than what we were used to it almost has like a barbecuey kind of sauce on top that adds like a sweetness and yeah super super interesting and the place that we went was a family run tiny little restaurant had probably about eight seats really up close and personal haven’t never been in a place that tiny before but it was super super cool experience and on top of the okonomiyaki we also got we also got kimchi that was really good it was just the right amount of spice definitely one of the better kimchi I’ve had oh and there was chicken it was pan fried chicken stir fried chicken and kimchi mhm so that was pretty good yeah so if you’re in the area maybe go to that place it was really really nice and wholesome and it feels good to know you’re supporting a small local uh family rather than some of these uh ones in the market that kind of feel unpersonalized it and we hope you enjoyed our Osaka food tour there’s definitely a lot more to hear to eat but we tried to eat everything our stomachs could muster so yeah it was definitely an experience lots to eat here lots to do and we can see why it’s called the kitchen of Japan well again thanks for watching we’ll catch you in the next one Bye by

Mouth drooling while watching this video 😂 wow that coin with the cheese pull sounded so good, ice cream too, that was so neat the meat that looked like ice cream😂 fluffy pancakes yes please. You guys know how to eat, thanks for making me hungry!! 😂❤
We stopped at Osaka for two nights and tried nothing there with the exception of a Wagyu experience that we absolutely loved. We wanted to try Okonomiyaki but ran out of time. It was mostly a stop to get to Universal Studios and Ghibli Park in Nagoya. Cremia though, omg, we're so glad you tried it. A lot of people that blog seem to ignore it when it's at the shops and go for the basic soft serves sold everywhere. Nothing wrong with those of course but Cremia is on another level. We had it as a twist at Kinosaki Onsen and was soooo creamy and yummy. Wonderful video y'all! Made me hungry 😂
The strawberries look great. It probably adds to the sweetness. Love any type of custard tart. I think the vending machines are so cool. The takoyaki looks nice also. We had them once and it was so hot I burned my mouth haha . I do like it with that sauce. The ramen looked delicious, the egg was so colored and great. Love this series you guys did so much! Did you have a single favorite amongst the food? Ill take a meat cone also matt. Haha

I have always wanted to go to Japan! You are making me so hungry with all this amazing food. So many cool things go to try!! The cheese coin is fun hahaha. 500 yen but says 10 yen lol! I’d love to try the ice cream! I have always wanted to try wagyu, and there’s no better place to try it. That meat tree though is quite unique 😂😂 roast beef and ranch haha. The food garage looks like a neat place too. Awesome food tour you guys! I am sooo hungry now lol!! 😊💕
