[Music] [Applause] [Music] hi in today’s Vlog I’ll show you our day trip to Kamakura Kamakura is a coastal town in Kanagawa prefecture south of Tokyo just an hour and a half away there are lots of temples shrines beaches many things to do there so let me take you along for our day trip to get to Kamakura we decided to take the subway there and so we refilled our cards with more money to cover the entire trip we just filled 3,000 yen in each card and that was plenty these kiosks are available in many train stations and they are usually located outside of the gates before you tap your IC card to get in [Music] we left in the morning around 8:00 a.m. and it was super busy with everyone going to work but one thing I noticed was regardless of how busy it is everyone stays in the line the whole time to get on the train and they somehow managed to pack everyone in for our trip we took around three trains from Shinjuku to get to Kamakura [Music] [Music] eventually we finally made it to Kamakura this is our Kamakura day trip and the first thing was to head to the bamboo forest to get there from comic station you can take a bus Which you tap with your IC card the bus stop is right outside of the Kamakura station [Music] w [Music] so the temple contains a Bamboo Garden inside of it and we got there right when it opened so it wasn’t busy at all compared to the Bamboo Garden in ariyama this one is much less crowded and probably a bit smaller as well for an extra 200 yen you can even have some matcha at the Tea House at the End of the Bamboo Garden overlooking the trees after we got our tickets we were free to roam around the Bamboo Garden for as long as we wanted take photos and take in the relaxing [Music] atmosphere e [Music] my brother and I decided to try out the matcha experience you bring your green Tika to the little tea house in the corner and they see you facing the bamboo then you are greeted with the matcha and some sugar cookies back in the US I wasn’t a big fan of matcha but I really enjoyed it here it didn’t have that bitter taste that I was used to and it was very smooth [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] after the Bamboo Garden experience we walked over to a Shinto Shrine that was along the way to kachori Street along the way we saw some koi fish [Music] [Applause] the shrine had a lot of people when we visited and there was some students from different schools having a day trip here as well and we also saw a marriage ceremony happening after the Shrine we headed to kachori this is a street filled with a lot of food vendors and gift shops we took a stroll here bought some water and some snacks afterwards we headed to the Giant Buddha statue the Kamakura dutu statue is 43 ft tall and it was my favorite thing we did in Kamakura this place is so Serene and breathtaking definitely blew my mind away after taking in the views at the Buddha statue we wanted to write the enoden line to enoshima Beach and nor line is a small local train that goes along the coast so the train ride is really really picturesque a lot of animes have been referenced in this area such as slam dunk here we got some ice cream and chilled by the beach the rest of the evening before heading back to Tokyo [Music] [Music] [Music] thanks for watching our day trip to Kamakura in the following videos I will show you the things we did outside of Tokyo bye [Music]
