Situated on the far western outskirts of Tokyo, Okutama is the perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of the big city and shows a very different side to the Tokyo people often think of. For this video we’ll be starting with a Canyon adventure then after getting lunch we’ll be taking a drive around Lake Okutama followed by a trip up Tsukiyomi yama to see the sunset so follow along as Torii and I spent a day in Okutama As well as natural beauty and spectacular landscapes, Okutama offers a range of activities to suit all ages from hiking and camping to onsens and river activities As for Torii and i we love being in the water so canyoning was an obvious choice For lunch we hit up Earth Garden as recommended by a friend of Torii’s. This cute little restaurant is surrounded by greenery giving you a tranquil environment to enjoy a hearty meal. Presentation also adds to the experience and this place has definitely got things right Not only in the interior design well done the food was also delicious After lunch we went for a drive around Lake Okutama which is a major source of fresh water for Tokyo and a popular spot for camping and fishing Not to mention, the beautiful view then we made our way up to Tsukiyomi yama. This is meant to be one of the nicest spots in Tokyo to go stargazing. Unfortunately there was heavy cloud cover when we went so no stars for us but instead we enjoyed a gorgeous sunset If you’re interested in finding out more about any of the activities we did please find links and details in the description box below. Thank you for watching and we will see you in our next video. Until then, happy travels!
