hello this is Renee and Tom and I are on the ultimate World cruise and we just docked in zardar Croatia I got up at 4:30 and saw the gorgeous moon we also discovered what was in the water in the last couple ports it’s actually all over the front of the ship several days ago it was a sandstorm that turned into a dust storm that hit Europe This originated from the Sahara Desert the captain backed the ship up into this spot and as they were trying to tie off the ship this happened [Music] everybody’s okay clear to disembark and we got on the bus to take an hour and a half ride so get ready for an epic adventure to theia I’m sure I’m not saying that right L Lakes National Park Croatia was home to ancient people including neanderthals and early farmers it was also part of the Roman Empire in the Early Middle Ages around the 7th Century Slavic tribes including the croats moved into the region in 1102 Croatia joined Hungary but it kept a lot of its independence during the late Middle Ages Croatia faced many battles between the Ottoman Empire from the south and the hburg from the North after World War I when Austria Hungary broke apart Croatia became part of the kingdom of Yugoslavia during World War II it was briefly an independent state but then became part of the Communist Yugoslavia after the war in 1991 Croatia declared its independence from Yugoslavia which led to the war that ended in 1995 Croatia even joined the European Union in 2013 uh this road now it’s uh going to take us past the airport it used to be a fun thing before we enter the European Union you could get stopped on the road and the plane would work across the road and then you would continue driving now they said the EU regulations it’s a quite dangerous so an Ever growing uh City at the moment is the fifth biggest city in Croatia of course Zagreb the capital being the biggest one CAA doesn’t have a lot of uh people it’s only about 4.7 million people in the whole country and Zagreb has 1/4 of that so about a million people just so in olive oil we make olive oil still traditional way you pick olives take it to the mill they get squeezed you bring C oil and then you and all the neighbors go and try to test it who is better which one is more natural more pure more or garlic or virgin oil welcome to the Citi Rock Tunnel which cuts through the Velvet mountains connecting two different climates on the coastal side where we left from you have the Mediterranean climate with mild wet Winters and hot dry Summers but as you emerge on the Inland side you enter a continental climate with hotter Summers and colder Winters the mountain blocks and change the wind patterns leading into these noticeable differences driving through this tunnel felt like you were driving in between two different worlds in just a few minutes the tunnel was over 3 minutes long shortly thereafter we stopped and saw two brown [Music] bears welcome to the park a UNESCO world heritage site known for six Terrace lakes and stunning waterfalls okay so we came here this is where we are just now we’re going to take one station here to the Lower Lake and then we will walk here the Viewpoint and walk down to see the big waterfall and this road is closed while we’ll see it from here from the nice view point and then we will walk like this to where we will have a break and then we’ll take the SL fors the defeat too these Lakes are connected by a series of beautiful waterfalls each more breathtaking than the last this park was established as a national park in 1949 but its natural beauty dates back thousands of years archaeological evidence suggest it was inhabited since prehistoric times in 1979 it was designated a UNESCO world heritage site recognized for its outstanding natural beauty and geological value the park is located in central Croatia near the border of Bosnia and H Cina covering an area of 29685 KM or 11457 M the lakes are known for their distinct colors ranging from aou to Green gray or blue the colors are changing constantly depending on the quality of minerals or organisms in the water and the angle of the sunlight the views were just absolutely stunning we would come back to this park in a heartbeat stre so you mostly [Music] [Music] see put your arms up [Music] super [Music] y [Music] [Music] wa more [Music] time to head back to the ship the evening’s entertainment was a night with Adele she could pass her Adele easily [Applause] [Music] [Applause] has a che love anymore mind I’ll find someone like you it was just like a s my God this reminds me [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] the w [Music] make sure to like subscribe and ring that Bell for more Adventures from every corner of the globe here is our itinerary for the next seven ports see you at the next port
