Sendai’s Akiu Great Falls Experience || Amazing Places To Visit In JAPAN

Around a twenty–minute drive from the Akiu Hot Springs village, you will find a small roadside market next to a sizeable torii gate. Walking through the gate is almost like entering another world. A beautiful old shrine stands within a forest of tall pine trees. Walk through the forest down some stairs and you will find yourself standing on a platform overlooking the incredible Akiu Otaki Falls, plummeting fifty-five meters down into the pristine river below. If you’re feeling adventurous, a short hike down some slippery stairs (tread carefully!) will take you to the base of the waterfall. Alternatively, you might prefer to relax in the on-site teahouse which serves up hot tea, coffee, and a selection of vegetarian-friendly Japanese snacks and desserts.

Although enjoyable to visit during any season, autumn is by far the most scenic time of year at Akiu Otaki Falls. The surrounding mountains are covered in a fiery carpet of yellow, gold, and tinges of red (typically peaking from late October to early November).

Nature lovers are recommended to complement their trip with a stop at some of the many other scenic spots in the Akiu area, such as Rairaikyo Gorge, Futakuchi Canyon, and Banjiiwa Rock. Whilst the area is accessible by public transport, it is recommended to visit by car, allowing you to enjoy the countryside at your own pace and make new discoveries along the way.

yo what’s up everybody it’s your boy napi and today I’m right here at AQ Great Falls AQ yeah yes it’s an amazing Falls and we’re going to have 25 minutes to 30 minutes hike to the waterfall and I’m amazed to be here and I have my brother here Haro yay yes so it’s going to be an amazing hike to the waterfall and this place is so amazing if you’re coming here use the bus or drive here there’s no train that comes here so just drive here if you drive here you’re going to meet all this amazing stuff see look behind me I think the camera is not doing Justice I’m cheating guys it’s so amazing I can’t wait to hike to the place and I’m going to show you more whilst I get there let’s go yeah [Music] coming to Japan has really made me appreciate nature so much especially living here in the city of trees suai to be prise it takes a community to build a healthy environment why am I saying this it is because people here take care of the environment by planting trees and flowers around their homes and EXP officially their office surroundings on today’s episode my Japanese friends Akira and haruto are taking me to see a waterfall here in suai which will take about 45 minutes going to the waterfall so we’re going to drive about 45 minutes and then we will hike to the waterfall so I think I would recommend if you’re coming here you should either get a bus or drive there I highly recommend driving there because you don’t want to miss this nature this trees the beautiful mountains the beautiful environment The Greenery guys this is so beautiful so that’s what I recommend either use the bus or highly get a driver or even if you can get someone to drive you there so that you don’t miss all these beautiful scen I’m talking about just take a look at this [Music] cist Silent
