[Music] wow wow hello everyone coming to you from Shing Night Market the largest Night Market here in ta a Taiwan I’m with my friends they’re over there but you’ll see them in the video it is rainy today uh so we’re going to see which dolls are actually open but I’m super we’re excited to eat some street food so let’s go wow here we are here we [Music] are [Music] wow we are at our first stop it is hot star they’re known for their giant fried chicken filet steak it’s crispy it’s delicious it’s freshly made you can see them grabbing the chicken right now dipping into that batter and then deep frying it it smells amazing here wow wow okay get it get it ready who that’s gigantic ha only wow it’s hot so hot your mouth is Ste skin is so crispy wow it looks so juicy M so hot how did you do that it’s such a big b it’s so hot but it’s so juicy inside oh my gosh you can actually taste all the like chicken juicy oiliness so much chicken the outside layer is really crispy it’s almost like crunchy crispy hot hot for a whole giant chicken breast very tender very juicy I can’t believe tender and juicy TJ another a sausage thing in the Philippines yes it’s tender juicy it’s a hot dog tender juicy hot dog [Music] [Music] it’s like peanuts and like corn flakes crushed up and kind of like caramelized flavor like a to flavor we’re getting peanut rolled ice cream so basically it’s a thin little pancake and then they put crushed up peanuts usually there’s a giant brick of peanuts and they’re like grinding it to get a super fine like little peanut dust and then they put cilantro in here even though that sounds like a weird combo the cilantro adds a lot of freshness to it but if you hate cilantro and it tastes like soap you’re not going to like this put it all together and then they put ice cream inside this is Swiss chocolate and vanilla here we go oh m w the ice cream is really good chocolate chip ice cream the little peanuts adds little Crunchies to it and of course all of over wrapped together in this little ice cream burrito delicious M that is really good right like the crunchiness what is it crunchy as the peanuts all the flavors together are so [Music] good very good [Music] come on very good very good God damn wow look at that look at that look at that good choice of flavor which one is it it’s cumin cumin and lemon pepper what flavor is it again it’s cumin we got and lemon pepper that’s right we are at Keen oyster mushrooms so these giant Keen oyster mushrooms are grilled they’re chopped up they’re super nice and juicy they Spritz them a little bit with lemon juice and then they put a seasoning powder so you can choose from a list we got cumin and also lemon pepper they look like little mushroom scallop here we go wo they’re so soft and juicy like mushroom pillows my gosh they kind of explode in your mouth you know like mushroom juice wow Jerry what did you get I got lemon wintermelon tea it’s my favorite it’s your favorite favorite tea of all time period yeah who you got yeah his glasses is a camera that’s why he’s wearing them ohic so they crush up some qua and put wintermelon with it here we go W so refreshing not sweet at all M delicious lemonade oh very I don’t even taste as sweet as with the wintermelon really it’s like very light compliments each other pretty well good [Music] lemonade Vibes Vibes Vibes vibes [Music] [Music] hello it’s going to fall it’s going to fall so funny all right guys first F you guys have to try it cuz you never tried this before double sausage let’s go y’all oh hot [Music] wow oh flavorful the crispiness of the rice the rice sausage is so good it’s like it’s like the crispy rice at the bottom of like a hot pot or like St pot some with the rice inside go ahead all right y’all so this is that sha which the literal translation is big sausage Wrapped Little sausage or you can say little sausage wrapped in big sausage basically it’s a tow sausage which is sweeter than regular sausage and then it’s wrapped in this rice sausage over here they’re both grilled and saued and you can choose your flavor to stuff into the sausage ready here we go mhm the chewy sausage with a soft rice is delicious the bite the combo there nothing better than double sausage that was a sauté right it’s interesting that it’s powder here go mhm get the garlic you get that extra garlicky punch so [Music] good I don’t know which camera to look at there’s just so many you look there’s so many cameras okay everyone so this is papaya milk uh you know how in Korea there’s like banana milk what else is really popular there strawberry milk the banana milk’s really popular in Taiwan we have papaya milk and apple milk so it’s papaya blended with sugar syrup sometimes condensed milk and high quality milk or fresh milk the Box said high quality milk it’s delicious it’s one of my favorite you can also get this in the convenience store in little cartons oh yeah it’s very very creamy you get get that like super sweet thick papaya flavor it’s good it’s good it’s giv it’s given what it needs to give oh it’s like not too sweet I like this a lot because when I was a kid in the Philippines I would eat papaya with condensed milk and like I never ate a papay without condensed milk so it tastes like it yeah and then one day I was like let me try it without condensed milk will I like it and yeah I did one thing that I love about night markets are actually the games they’re so much fun they remind me so much of my childhood oh this one is so cool so you throw the balls into the hle and then this one you grab the balls toss it knock it all down Okay so this game you just bounce the ball into these cups okay how he gave us some extra balls a oh there you go wow hey check this out huh oh what the that was actually kind of good I thought it was going to be funny but it was actually kind of good really good okay wait oh I’m kind of good oh that’s crazy y so cute constellation fries y’all this is one of my favorite games you get these little hoops and you just toss and you try hook it on any of these here we go wait where’s the expensive stuff look what want a beer yay Jerry won a little Poke Ball and I got this little grape thing and um Janelle what here for the Vibes [Music] Vibes yep [Music] I got it I [Music] get wow [Music] [Music] stinky to time wow wow wow wow wow wow wow wow okay we finally found stinky tofu so this is the fried one and these are really the ones you want to try especially if it’s your first time it’s much more digestible what does this what does it smell like to you actually smells like sewer oh really yeah yeah yeah that’s fair people have said like stinky socks stinky sinks yeah it’s pretty yeah it smells good to me I I it took me a while to get used to oh really it smells so good to me like home you definitely want to get some of that pickle cabbage yeah try to coat this whole thing in the sauce and I put some cabbage on yes that’s my favorite maybe a little little carrot yeah okay little little dude that so good really you like it yay I’m so excited for two it’s really good like this let’s go cuz it’s so good so good it’s just crispy tofu with sauce and cabbage it’s delicious the night market like this like gloopy brown sauce on no no no this is the legit oh no no no this this is what like me and my mom always gets this is the one the fried kind that’s the one you want to get yeah we got the Fri the ferment the fermented flavor is kind of kicking it’s not that bad right Market I took one bite and it was like sew really wait try this one try try your turn [Music] M mhm really you know what a not like it tastes like beans but it’s just a little aftertaste of like fermentation yeah dude I think they legit served like rotten tofu like that last place oh not good not good this is delicious yeah let’s go yay you guys like it dude third times a charm something like that oh look at that some of this cabbage on there it’s my favorite I legit think they they stinky tofu so this tofu is brined in just like it’s usually like shrimp paste beans stuff like that and it’s bred for a few days from one day to a few days and you can really smell it and then they deep fry it then they put sauce on it and then this pickled C cage which is the best and I love that he pulled it out from this bucket of pickle package right guys here we go rice stinky tofu okay one bite so good the pickle cabbage just like cuts through that oiliness chef’s kiss flying everywhere this is cold noodles it’s Sesame paste um they add cucumber ham you can find these everywhere and you can also find it in the convenience store if it’s popular in Taiwan there’s some version of it in the convenience store except the stinky tofu okay here we go pretty good it’s got this like super wine flavor actually if you try it o it’s spicy it’s got a kick very like deep Sesame taste a little bit of is it rice wine what is that shaen wine a little bit it tastes like it [Music] [Music] [Music] no so just the top you see all these top layers if you like put them aside and dig into the middle it’s all the stinky to oh oh yeah it’s very delicate there it is oh here we go oh yeah wa that was nice looks good so this is braid also really good it’s also really good yeah here we go o spongy okay this is not my favorite way of eating sticky tofu but it does look like it’s soaking up all that soup here we go it’s really good it’s not bad it’s not bad at all wow I’m soft it’s very soft what I’m really scared of though is the dou blood like I think the texture of this I can’t really you know cuz it’s like tofu galanis and tofu oh it does look like Silk and tofu but yes it does taste like iron I don’t like the metallic The Taste and the combo of it yeah they use duck blood for H I go you like yeah do you like du you likeed oh Doug blood dug blood Doug blood damn eating his own blood [Music] it’s softer than pork one more jelly blobs really it does look much softer than I like it what I remember it to be J [Music] blood it’s like SOI tofu but with an aftertaste like it kind of lingers and it’s a little bit rubbery M yeah the jelly blobs that don’t break down it’s not bad though okay I I would say it’s not bad it’s just I don’t like the texture personally the blood is like jelly blobs that doesn’t really break down but it doesn’t have as much of an irony taste it doesn’t have much of a metallic taste compared to cor it’s like very mild yeah that’s a signature TJ s what no it’s not all right y’all so that was a Taiwan street food tour here at where are we oh my gosh I think we’ve been here for a couple hours a shalian night market here in Tai Taiwan uh it is a rainy day so it’s actually less crowded today although I feel like some of the Stalls were not open we still got to hit some of the major ones and everything was delicious it was Doug and Janelle’s first time trying Taiwanese street food and being at a night market so how was
