The months of July and August are a very special time in Japan with all the summer festivals. My favorite was the Obon (お盆) or just Bon (盆). Every summer my family would go to the local shrine and have fun with some dancing, music, and food. This was huge community event and I always walked away with a smile! Thanks Japan for all the memories! Enjoy this year’s Obon.
