I recently purchased a three-week JR Pass on a trip to Japan and my brother asked me to give him an exact figure of the value I was able to extract from the 100,000-yen ticket.
okay this is the Jr pass and it lets tourists in Japan ride as many trains as they want but is it worth it let’s see if the 3we pass that I bought is worth the 100,000 Yen that I paid for it day one Osaka to yamanashi at this rate I’m way ahead day two yamanashi to Osaka day three Osaka to KI day four Ki to takamasu day five back to Osaka day six no travel day seven Osaka to shiman day eight on to Yamaguchi day nine around Yamaguchi then back to Osaka day 10 no trouble day 11 Osaka all the way up to IAT and I’ve already got 100,000 Yen worth of trips day 12 to Tokyo day 13 to atami day 14 back to Osaka day 15 a nice day trip to wakayama day 16 no travel day 17 up to Tokyo day 18 and 19 around Tokyo day 20 a round trip to Nago for the day day 21 back to Osaka

Damn!!
average tourist will do nowhere near that much travel…you spent half your days on the train.
No one in their right mind travels to a foreign country just to sit in a train every day wtf is this
600€ is really chea0 for 3 week. Like imagine renting a car, buying plane tickets or individual train tickets. Would just way more
If your a train enthusiast this is an amazing deal
So unless you wanna spend half of your time in japan on trains, not worth it. Noted.
Seems most commenters have no idea how quick most Japanese trains are. Spending an hour or two getting somewhere on train is not “spending the whole day on trains”.
