► Kumamoto Castle is located in Chuo-ku, Kumamoto.
It was originally built in 1467, then destroyed in 1867 by the Satsuma Rebellion. Todays version of Kumamoto Castle as it stands, was rebuilt in 1960, using as many as the original materials as possible.
It’s a great and interesting place to visit, and is considered one of the 3 premier castles in Japan, along with Himeji – & Matsumoto castle. – Enjoy!
