PERSONA LIVE TOUR 2024 | My time at the Persona concert in Japan

I got the chance to go to another Persona concert! Known as PERSONA LIVE TOUR 2024, it took place in a much smaller venue, and had several showings in 2 locations in Japan. I hope every Persona fan is able to attend one of these concerts at some point in their lives, because they are life-changing.

in my last Persona concert video in 2022 I spoke pretty highly of the show that they put on for us well as I’m recording this uh as of last Friday I was able to go to the very first showing of The 2024 Persona live tour this video should be going up just as the last show in the tour finishes so anyway let’s just get right into it cuz I’ve got a lot of good things to say [Music] the venue this year was at Namba hatch this is really embarrassing my girlfriend and and I arrived really early only to realize that our tickets were already numbered in the order at which we’d be let in so we could have gotten there right on time and still been fine anyway unfortunately that meant we had to wait several hours and since this was a smaller venue than last year they didn’t have much of anything going on in the waiting area aside from the merch line speaking of merch though I’ll show you all what I got at the end of this video so stick around if you’re curious eventually as that final hour Drew near we all got shuffled into a a proper line luckily our tickets were numbered 48 and 49 though so we were pretty close to the front of the pack now that we were in it might be a good time to talk about the venue itself there’s the stage obviously then there’s two floors for the audience the first floor is all standing room and the second floor has seating when you go to these kinds of concerts I feel like there’s no reason to choose second floor seating since the first floor is standing there can be some pushing and shoving but I mean just look at how close we were to the front our low ticket numbers got us in so quickly that we were able to beat most of the crowd and get right up close to the action oh that reminds me though one of the venues rules is that everyone has to buy one overpriced drink to be let in but they sell the drinks right before you get into the room so I was stuck with this bottle of Sprite for the whole show if you go to a show here wear pants with Deep Pockets that you can fit the bottle into okay but that’s enough complaining because by now the show had finally begun just like last year filming and photography were not permitted and this time I can’t find any photos online so I’m going to have to use a bit of footage from the 2022 concert but that’s not enough for me I want to get creative so I’m going to use my Pro artist skills to illustrate for you what it was like throughout this video I hope you enjoy it anyway joining us on stage were three Persona singers because this show focused on music from the two most recent games we had Lynn representing Persona 5 tactica then there was Lotus juice and the brand new AI Takahashi representing persona three reload we also had vava as the DJ and Toshi konishi the new sound director for the Persona series on guitar it was so cool to be up so close to them even though I was pretty close to the front for the 2022 concert the stage there was massive so it still felt like they were a bit further away at one point during this show Lynn actually reached out and was able to touch the penlight of someone in the front row one thing I don’t think I mentioned in my 2022 concert video was that due to the lingering effects of the pandemic we weren’t allowed to scream or shout or anything I mean aside from the music and the general you know Applause the concert was totally quiet well for the first time in several years at this concert we were allowed to get pretty crazy and wild that was totally cool and I’m really glad we were because that just made the event so much more fun not only were we screaming during the hype parts we were also singing along and filling in the blanks when the artist pointed their microphones at us my favorite song from Persona 3 reload was color your night and it was really fun at the concert shouting hey along to the rap portion you know there were even some kind of inside jokes formed with the audience Lotus juice asked the guitarist Mr Kishi if he could call him Conan everyone freaked out and started shouting Conan whenever he came on stage then later on as con Conan and Lynn were having a little intermission talk on stage somebody from the second floor shouted con con and Lynn found it really funny so for the rest of the concert everyone started shouting for Cony con instead all right all right you know saying all this out loud I’m realizing now just how unfunny it all sounds you know I mean jokes are never funny when explained but I guess I just want to mention it because it felt really good to be part of the crowd and really interact with the artists firsthand like this another good example of this this was when I got azami herself to wave back at me during the instrumental break in Kim no kyoku I know I know it’s corny but I was really excited if you go to a venue like this get a first floor standing ticket because you will not regret it well now that I’ve mentioned songs a few times what exactly was the set list you might be wondering well first up was uh all right I’m sorry I don’t remember the exact order but I do remember what the first song itself was it was Persona 3 reloads intro song full moon full life they played the intro movie on the screen too so everyone got faked out at that first part of the video you know when the protagonist is flipping through his MP3 player as I said before the focus of the concert was definitely on Persona 3 reload and Persona 5 tactica so a majority of the songs were from those two two games also as I mentioned before the Highlight for me was color your night that song just goes too [Music] hard they hit all the songs though like e toi [Music] dorm deep breath deep breath the fun remix from movie that [Music] is burn my dread and many [Music] more I have to admit I haven’t played Persona 5 tactica yet so I didn’t recognize those songs but they were still really enjoyable it made me want to go ahead and try playing that game even though I wasn’t that interested in it before I am not immune to propaganda truly but not to worry Persona 5 fans they had a good amount of music from the original Persona 5 as well such as last surprise takeover life will change and the always incredible I believe there were also two breaks where the DJ took over and played some of the boss songs such as battle him of the Soul as well as the Tartarus exploration theme which was surprisingly fun in a concert setting as the tempo kept getting faster and faster I’m sorry I don’t have an exact ordered set list for you especially since didn’t really know the tactica songs but they had the main P5 songs and just about every song from p3r honestly I think p3r is want to be close was the only one I don’t remember hearing before I wrap up I also want to mention the Persona dancers as they were called while the music is always incredible at these events the show would not be the same without the insanely talented to dance team the choreography is fun to watch yes but I’m always really impressed by how the dancers portray the characters that they’re dressed as there was a part during one of the DJ performances when the Persona 3 characters were all dancing on the stage as second level while the Phantom thieves from Persona 5 were all huddled around the DJ booth the way they all interacted with the DJ and with each other looked like it was straight out of the game I swear to you Makoto was even mimicking some of the animations that her character does in the game and keep in mind this was throughout the entire performance I could tell they all knew their characters really really well in particular it was also a lot of fun to watch yukari and jume interacting with each other you know fighting the way that they always do speaking of which I should go ahead and mention the characters that we saw for Persona 3 we had the protagonist of course alongside jume and yukari then for Persona 5 we had the protagonist there along with ryuji an and Makoto they all started in their usual ual uniforms but later on we actually had a costume change where everyone came out in their metaverse outfits I think this marks the debut of these costumes and they looked great seeing the p3r redesigned C outfits and the P5 Phantom thieves outfits for their public debut felt really really special finally after a three song Encore the show was unfortunately over as they shuffled us out of the venue in the lobby I saw none other than junay himself the dancer his name being U jury was still in his Jun get up taking pictures so of course I had to get one I talked to him a bit and he was so kind and friendly I complimented his performance but he said he was just up there having fun and truly I could tell how much fun all the dancers were having up there so I’m really really glad I got to meet him afterwards so anyway to wrap up my thoughts on the concert before we get into the merch part of the video I just want to say I had an excellent time the smaller venue allowed us to be so much closer to the action and now with the restriction on shouting lifted uh it also allowed us to have a lot more fun interactions with the artists the set list was perfect and well paced the dancers were excellent representations of their characters and I know I’m going to remember this show for the rest of my life incidentally this was my girlfriend’s first Persona concert and she said that it was probably probably the best concert she’s ever been to and she’s been to a lot more concerts than I have so please if you ever have the opportunity I urge you to go supposedly they’re going overseas for the first time to have the same concert in Taiwan so I hope that means they’re thinking about going to more and more countries for future concerts they always know how to put on an insane show and every Persona fan needs to go to one of these shows at least once anyway for the next portion of this video let’s take a look at the merch I’m going to go ahead and move on over to the table so I will see you over there at the end of this sentence okay welcome to the table that was very fast you got here much quicker than I did okay so I’m going to go ahead and start with the thing that you might have already noticed uh I was wearing was the concert T-shirt last time I think I was given the t-shirt for free along with my ticket but this time it was sold separately uh but as you can see you know very cool design we’ve got uh Persona live tour 2024 more ahead right there and if we go ahead and flip it over here we go we’ve got the concert title again as well as the Osaka Namba hatch uh showing which is the one that I went to as well as the upcoming June 7 and 8th uh showings in Yokohama uh so this video should be going up there right after the Yokohama show because spoilers you know they requested people not talk about the concert until all showings were completed anyway there’s the Persona dancers there’s con con on guitar DJ vava and the three singers of course very cool anyway so that’s what I wore to the concert one more shirt here this one is actually not mine this is my girlfriend’s but it is also a shirt that was sold as part of the uh concert merch we got the the title there as you can see got a cute little Morana and Coram Maru there on the left and on the right uh I believe that is a speaker company’s logo I don’t know I see that logo in the store maybe you recognize it but here we go Atlas X his master’s voice I think that’s the name of that company very cute on the front there all right then uh I guess I should probably mention the main thing that most people got was the TA pin lights so just like with the other concert you know you hold the button down to turn it on and then you can flip through all the different colors and you know during the concert you know you’re like you know you’re waving around very fun having a good time probably seen them in uh I think Japanese concerts in general have these pretty much all the time so you might have seen them in there anyway we got Persona live tour 2024 right there spot for the batteries uh you might notice here this is mine on the right this is mine right here um with the P3 protagonist here’s the one with uh Joker this one I this is my girlfriend’s these are actually these top parts are actually uh these were sold separately uh now not to say that they were scamming us but I’ll show you what they originally came with here we go so they originally came all with the same design uh you know in black and you might recognize the design from the T-shirt Persona live tour 2024 more ahead right and then there it goes back around uh so this is what all the pen lights had and from what I could see most people there had this design on their pin lights but um sold separately were these tubes that were more specifically Persona 3 or Persona 5 themed and so we got one of each all right so that’s kind of the main stuff out of the way see what else did we get these came with our pen lights these were bracelets uh yeah I think I don’t need to read it out for you this time I think we all can see what it says see just a pretty standard bracelet you know got the little penss there it’s worth noting that this this is not like a cheap plastic thing like I mean it is plastic but it’s like nice you know these letters are um embossed I think is the word you know they’re kind of coming out right there’s some texture there’s some texture to it feels kind of cool we also got stickers I guess this is specific to the Osaka showing I’m assuming the Yokohama showing will have a different location right there and as well as a different date but these were specifically for the Osaka showing so very special and uh I think for ordering a certain amount of money’s worth of goods we also got these little pouches as a like a bonus gift you know spend however much yen or more and you get a a free pouch so you know just a little pouch we used this one to carry our pen lights uh and then we also got enough for a second one uh which we haven’t opened yet haven’t really had the need to but you know black blue I’m assuming there’s a red one as well to go with Persona 5 but yeah so there is that uh I guess the last thing here is the our tickets I hope there’s not any information on here but probably not you there’s our tickets there’s number 48 49 right Super Lucky we’re able to we were able to get up real close thanks to those so I also got this tapestry once again of the Persona live tour uh key art uh I actually got this a little a little while back a few months ago but they were selling it at the concert too so I thought I’d show it but this is actually the kind of the MP3 player that the Persona 3 protagonist wears around his neck and uh they don’t make him like this anymore I really wish they did but it’s it’s not real it’s a replica but you can kind of see there depending on how you tilt it it goes through the two new songs for reload both full moon full full moon full life from the intro and uh it’s going down now the the new battle theme but yeah very cool it’s and it’s made out of like real metal it’s heavy you know this has been such a cool accessory I love wearing it and going out into the City and stuff I did wear this to the concert uh so would recommend it’s a very cool accessory anyway I think that about does it for me I think that is about all the merch we got uh if you made it this far in the video listening to me rambling here at the end I really really appreciate it thank you so
