A wonderful rare experience for me to be invited to Kagoshima Jingu’s Inari Shrine #稲荷神社 (稲荷神社(鹿児島神宮境内末社)! Filming and photographing a shrine is usually not allowed and frowned upon by the shrine’s staff. With permission, I was grateful to be given the opportunity to film and create an art piece from my experience. Never had I been invited to something with cultural importance, as an amateur content creator and artist.

Kagoshima Jingu Shrine is a palace in Osumi Province located in Hayato-cho Kirishima City, Kagoshima Prefecture. There is a long history dating back to the age of the gods. It is a large shrine with many branch shrines such as the Inari Shrine. While accompanied by the shrine’s staff, I learned a lot about the history and cultural importance of this Inari Shrine. While walking through the many gates, it was definitely a spiritual experience and reminded me of the popular and famous Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine in Kyoto.

The best part about it was, it was not crowded with tourists! Through experiencing and touring this shrine, I wanted to take this opportunity for my art journey. Please watch till the end to see what the art piece I came up with!
