I booked this trip to Kusatsu Onsen Hot Spring in Japan a few months ago. This Onsen Hot Spring town has become popular with tourists recently. I decided to make this video because I wanted to show everyone another side of Japan. Here’s an ideal 2-day itinerary for anyone who wants to visit Kusatsu.

[Music] hi i m from Tokyo in this video I will show you how how to enjoy and get the Kusatsu on right now I’m at Shinjuku station in Tokyo is easy to reach from Tokyo and you don’t need a car you can book a bass seed up one month in advance on the Japan Express railway Basset website when booking make sure to enter GMA as the destination because kusu want appear Kusatsu Onsen is located at an altitude of 1,200 M surrounded by beautiful mountains in Goomba perfecture it is also one of the best Hot Spring Resorts in Japan now we are off the Kusatsu Onsen by express bus depending on the season a one-way bus trip from Tokyo to Kusatsu on cost about 4,000 Yen or less if you prefer the train it takes about 4 hours from Shinjuku since some places close early for lunch it’s best to take a bus that drives around noon the bus ride is quick and you can relax and have a snack on the way we have arrived a ten as you head toward the center you will see the symbol of Kusatsu Onsen a historic structure that has existed for over 200 years [Music] this is called yake it is the largest source of hot spring water in Kusatsu Onsen located in the center of Kusatsu Onsen More than 4,000 L of hot spring water got out every minute [Music] it is breathtaking to see the crystallization of the hot spring ingredients the white hot spring water dancing in the air the temperature of the hot spring water gushing from the hot spring Peels and Kusatsu Onsen ranges from about 50 to 95° C the source is very hot and direct bathing is not allowed adding water would reduce the benefits of the hot spring Therefore a method called Yumomi was appeared I will show you Yumi after lunch we visited a restaurant famous for its Soba noodles it is relatively new in Kusatsu Onsen and opened in 2017 Starting with soba noodles made from homegrown Bak flour you can enjoy a fresh soba and crispy tempura Rice Bowl they are very tasty now it’s time to see the yumomi show we will get inside yumomi is a method of stirring hot water by placing a board and lowering it the constant temperature so that people can bed in it in fact a yumomi show is held every day in a building around the hot spring field called Netsunoyu When this yumomi is performed the Kusatsu Yumomi is sung to set the tone it is a traditional kusatsu song Advanced reservations are not available so you must line up to purchase tickets on the day of the [Music] tour there are six performances a day 3 in the morning and 3 in the afternoon the performances are quite popular so if you go too late in the day you will miss the chance to see them we went to the afternoon session this time but if you definitely want to see the show it might be better to go the next day in the morning discount coupons are available for anyone with a smartphone After the show take a walk down a Charming little shopping street with old buildings and cobblestone rolls giving it a historic and elegant feel You can enjoy the traditional sites of the Hot Spring Resort as you walk the street is lined with souvenir shops and restaurants selling hot spring bands and unique local specialities from K after enjoying the stroll head to the cafe this Cafe has a very stylish entrance and interior creating a relaxing and calming atmosphere It is located on the way up the hill from yat in Kusatsu Onsen toward the pass terminal in in addition to the grapes which are a popular item at this store I had a homemade Cola stir the slider and Cola ingredients well it may be just the right break after a tiring stroll this is so good I believe this is the best Cola after taking a break at the cafe we will go to the hotel the hotel where we will be staying is the Kusatsu Onsen Hotel Sakurai a long established luxury Lan with the history of over 60 years first we will relax a little in our room then it will be time for dinner dinner is beauty style you can get freshly made mlang cake and even freshly made orange juice one of the unique features of this young is that you can experience Yumi yourself the boards used for yumomi are a bit heavy than expected as the night gets darker let’s go to ryokan in the center of the city before taking a bath in the ryokan natural hot springs after taking a break at theang we will visit yat again [Music] the lightning at night changes according to the time of day offering a variety of [Music] colors winter time is very fantastic and beautiful but conversely it is quite cold so be sure to dress warmly before going out have a great night good morning everyone we will start the second morning with a nice one of the most famous hot RS in kusatsu onsen is s onsen the most unique feature of the s kusatsu open air bath is that it offers a 360° view of nature in all four seasons which is quite rare among Japanese Hot Springs it is also one of the most spacious hot springs in Kusatsu onset it accommodates many people at the same time rental bath towels are available but they are quite expensive you should bring your own there’s no washing area so you will only have to pour water over yourself before bathing a path leads to an open air hot springs surrounded by seasonal leaves and their food bathes along the way feel free to stop by and refresh yourself in between tours the next stop is the monkey show trained monkeys demonstrate yumomi which is used to adjust temperature of the Onsen this show is the first of its kind in the world the unique and adorable monkey movements are definitely worth seeing we will move to the last destination there are three hot spring facilities in KATU Onan that are available free of charge to General tourists they are considerably hotter than regular hot springs I bit in jizono yu which is the cooler of the three this is not a tsty place it is rather a more authentic experience of a traditional Onan there are no towels available for rent so bring your own bath towel time to go back to Tokyo the best depart from kusatsu now after a 4-Hour bus ride back you arrive at Shinjuku station coming back to the Bing Shinjuku you build a different energy thanks for watching don’t forget to subscribe to my channel see you at the next video 2. Thanks for the video ! 😄 I would love to experience some Onsen like this but unfortunately I have a lot of tattoos so not every Onsen will accept me 🙁 things I wish I knew before I got my first tattoo 😅

  3. I like this style of video too! It's calming and informative. Your normal videos contain a lot of quick tips and recommendations. This one is a bit more slow and in-depth. I like them both!
