I think my first vending machine though oh look at that I love this these people think they’ll let us pick some AB check out this sh nice big bathtub we have found the KFC look at that view 519 a.m. in took you [Music] this is where the journey to Japan starts MCO International Airport we have just dropped off our bags United now it’s to TSA pre-check and we’re out of here this trip is my daughter’s graduation presid she graduated from college 2 days ago it two days ago and I let her pick pick where she wanted to go and she chose Japan so off we go into the TSA pre-check line see you on the other side of security man I’ve said it before I love TSA pre-check now we’re headed to gate 42 on the train9 Terminal A and B are so yeah eat in here is okay 42 you said should be quick it this look pretty level to you yeah let me see the yeah looks good oh that’s pretty we could even sit down and eat in the gastro Hub if we want what kind of time we got our gate is 42 we are flying United our first step is tonight Friday night MCO to LAX 5our flight we stay in a hotel we stay at the holiday in then tomorrow we have an 1105 flight out of LAX to Tokyo then we’ll be there this we eated man and this is garlic chicken with glowman and garlic chicken with rice food items you’ll need a form of payment saved on the United App all of our payments are done in a contact free manner that’s for your safety there’s instructions on all that your seat back how as you make your way towards your seats we s your larg car on luggage in the overhead bins pleas a reclin box got popcorn Oreos pretzels thank you all thank you so we got to go to terminal bag checking we just made it to La collected our bags now we are waiting for our airport shuttle here we are at the holiday in LAX this is room 1128 now for my diamond status said this was an upgrade I’m not sure how bad the other one must have been smells like pepperoni my daughter says nice tub let’s face it if you’re staying here it’s because you’re flying out or something the view of the hotel in the morning look at all the stuff on the window that is not usland this was a terrible Hotel it’s just dirty and old and paint peeling and just not nice but we just needed it for a night we are flying this morning from LAX to Nita airport we have a 10:15 boarding time and it is currently 8:01 so we need to get on the ball this hotel also says the shuttle only runs every half an hour so I might need to grab an Uber but we’re excited let’s get rolling okay I’ll say thank you oh look at that view that’s just wonderful see all the planes they also have an outside deck 75 76 76 74 where’s 77 over there that is Zone one boarding line we are on the upgrade list for premium plus but I don’t think we’re going to get it oh yeah look at that back there that’s crazy but we shall see we’re on the upgrade for premium plus we shall see what happens they have just started pre-boarding why is this vibrating your phone at me whole we are in Japan when we walk out of this turmoil we’re going to in Japan or we’re in Detroit and just thw flew us around America in a cruel joke for hours it’s warm in here 237 actually I feel pretty good me too I feel fine a little sleepy I’m a little sleep but I think I can make a few hours okay where does that thing say we’re supposed to go it is Terminal 2 we go that way ah the train but we need to go to Terminal 2 first can we just walk over to two terminal shuttle bus is at 6 6 we got to go down there to terminal shuttle bus oh that goes to the train but first we got to do our other stuff oh my I’m warm I think it’s right down there okay rest of the week and just under oh is that it right there with the S sign Sim that’s it thank you we have 8 day unlimited SIM cards from Sakura mobile I’ll let you know how easy it or out hard we go downstairs to bf1 and as you can see the Narita Express Skyliner sales we want Narita Express sales first we want an ATM and S weka my first try of a vending machine in Japan Georgia coffee should look on I traveled Halfway Around the World to get a Georgia Cofe oh the first quiet I feel like since we’ve gotten to Narita Airport okay so what happened is we checked in we landed we went through customs which is three stops where you show three different people your goods your passport and your uh and your QR code if you did that if not you have to out the paper then we went to we were in we landed in Terminal 1 so we had to go over to Terminal 2 in Terminal Two we were able to get our SIM cards then in that same turmoil we were able to get tickets for the Narita Express cash from a 7-Eleven ATM machine and our sua cards so there we go now we’ve go Narita Express to Shinjuku direct cost a little more than something like the Casey KY Skyliner but it’s direct for us wow that sounds ominous oh it’s over the next this is the train for Terminal 1 not our train I love these things that raise and DRS oh look at that I love this these people are that’s really cool we are on the Narita Express we threw our stuff on top we got cup holders we are in green car Che out theck okay we are trying hers it says concentrated on it so we don’t know what’s going on here this so I’m a little it says it’s supposed to be poured over and bubbly oh my yeah that’s not meant to be drank straight we’re going to have to test that later with uh something else on the way to the Tokyo oh look at the beautiful garden may I have your attention please the backage think they’ll let us pick some absolutely do they have pick your own rice that is a beautiful this is a big bathroom is that a h can’t be I don’t know what that is we’re going to SH now check out this sh welcome to Jaan to Japan it works though nobody can see what though the Narita Express was really easy it was hard to screw that up we are now in Shinjuku station the busiest train station in the world we need to find our way upstairs and walk to our hotel Tokyo Hilton and we really don’t know where we’re going we’re just following everybody else oh okay there’s a sign turn you can get a ticket right here really cool can you carry your stuff up here okay not in my sorry let me uh figure out which direction we’re going I believe I’m going to put some things around hold on yep that’s what it says that’s Shinjuku station we just came out the East exit I’ll get you a better view from up top oh yeah here we go my Lord look at that store we just came out of Shinu station right over there we headed look and it’s down in that we are almost to the hill and it’s right over there Google Maps directions walking gave us a weird route I think I’m going to have to scrutinize those routes a little better room 257 let’s check it out oh I love that okay what is in here right off the bat just some nice drawers how about this slippers nice safe a shoe harde this is classy place look at this nice Japanese toilet shower nice big bathtub a little tea set with some teas oh yes and some coffees nice TV workstation tiny beds by American Standards so they had us booked in a king Executive Suite uh I got that upgrade for my uh membership in Hilton Honors and that’s cool but I’m here with my daughter so we need two beds and they were nice enough to UPG greatest of two beds later in the week they’re not so sure that’s possible so we’ll see look at that view whoa okay well take a look at this in the daytime when you can really see outside okay so we walked down a set of stairs from Hilton inside the Hilton and we came down to this underground tunnel that connect several subway stations I’ll Point them out on the map but yeah we going have to check this out in more detail still walking in the underground tunnels it looks like we might be able to go all the way to Shinjuku station in these tunnels we’re just walking around Tokyo looking for KFC actually cuz we’re going to hit that before we go to bed and there a shrine right here we have found the KFC and although we plan on eating a lot of Japanese food this week we’re getting KFC tonight people told us that it’s better in Japan we should see Aaron’s got KFC and I got ramen we’ll check it out in the hotel room we are ready for bed look at that view yep see oh look the wall from the Poltergeist which Poltergeist movie was that not one I don’t know it was like two or three scary looking to me 519 a.m. in Tokyo a little rainy out there today now let’s talk about details of getting here what we learned what we know now after the fact we left Orlando I think only about 24 hours ago but uh technically two days ago on the 17th we left Friday night we flow flew the 5 hours from Orlando to LAX that was the worst flight to me because we were crammed in like sardines but uh it was rough but it’s only 5 hours we got through it then the 11 and 1/2 hour flight we we spent the night in the holiday in in LAX and then we had an 1105 flight the next day we went to checked out the United Club and we got on this flight we were economy we we were trying to upgrade for points but it didn’t work and we had to sit in economy for 11 and 1 half hours but I was comfortable I was comfortable at home terrible 11 and half hours the only issue was when the person leaned back oh in front of water bottle slammed into my knee a couple times and he didn’t Lean Back terribly but because we couldn’t really lean back it was sort of like a now you’re stuck we were in the final row up against the bathrooms which meant we could lean back a little with no one behind us but we couldn’t lean back fully uh so okay we got here once we landed in Narita Airport going through customs was three stops and I couldn’t film any of that for you sorry uh going through customs is show your passport show your your QR code and then do a final passport and QR code to exit Customs then we get to terminal one everything we needed to do like SIM cards Narita express everything was in Terminal 2 so on the map I thought Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 were easy across the street from each other but they’re not Terminal 2 is there are two shuttles that you catch at gate six at Terminal 1 to take you over to Terminal 2 one takes 13 minutes and goes past Terminal 3 first and makes a stop there the other takes 4 minutes and just goes directly to Terminal 2 we used that one it was great we went over to Terminal 2 it was a little complicated even though I’ve watched tons of videos before on how to get your sua card like welcome sua and how to get inita Express but it it had a special sequence of events that had to happen welcome sua was sold out and I don’t know if that’s just our day or if it’s just not happening right now I know the chip shortage is over but welcome sua was sold out we couldn’t get one so we grabbed we needed a regular sua card we went into the line you got to have cash so first we went to the 7-Eleven ATM we got our cash then we went over and got our sua cards and now today I’m going to check and see if we can charge it and add more with a credit card I’m curious about that or if we have to use cash again to put more on our sua card anything else um um I know a lot of people are scared about uh like language blocks everyone spoke English well really knew what they were talking about knew how to help us where we needed to go that was actually really impressive every single person but that’s why in I think in a lot of cases it’s easier to use a vending machine I would say here if you really don’t know what you’re doing it might be easier to go and get someone’s help yep so we got when we got our tickets from the Narita express it literally spit out 10 tickets and this was a roundtrip ticket so one ride into Tokyo and one ride out next week and I’m like why did this thing spit out 10 tickets and here’s why it did two were receipts so we had eight tickets left and for each ticket in the green car if you have a reserved car you get one basic Fair ticket and one green car ticket your basic Fair ticket gets you into the terminal using the little key the stations that you walk through and the Green Card ticket you keep to show that youve reserved that green car so two tickets for each person each leg Yeah um it is very hot and there’s a lot of people around uh the Narita Airport that are in the same position as you I wonder everybody else is it always that hot because it was hot it was like they had no air conditioning hot and I wasn’t used to that um but also there are a lot of other foreigners who have no idea what they’re doing so it’s very crowded there’s a lot of people just kind of going back and forth we did that um I don’t think there’s really anything that they can do because it is just all of us trying to find busy and everybody trying to get once we got our Narita Express tickets it was very easy we went down very clearly marked where you get onto your car and which cars are going to your station and it was an easy ride in it was 80 minutes but it felt like nothing because we had such beautiful views we were passing by okay anything else we want to tell people almost all bathrooms I’ve been to right now have been really nice like at least clean uh I know that like especially where we come from America you don’t you try your very best not to use Transportation toilets that’s true the bathroom in the airport terminal was Immaculate well that but also the train trains are the ones where I’m like oh I don’t really do that you’re right the train was amazing it was very and it was very open another problem with train bathrooms in America is that they’re really small so you’re kind of just touching everything and it feels like you’re touching all the gross stuff that was huge there was huge join us for tomorrow when we head to Kyoto [Music] so [Music]
