Let’s now pay a visit to Osaka. 01.Dotonbori Dotonbori is one of the most well-known tourist attractions in Osaka. The vibrant and energetic district is known for its neon-light billboards and shop displays, such as the gigantic moving crab and Glico Running Man. This is a popular dining destination due to its abundance of restaurants. As an entertainment district in Osaka, the district provides so many opportunities for shopping, sightseeing, food, and attractions that you’ll never be bored of! 02.Universal Studios Japan Universal Studios Japan is a theme park with attractions and rides based on famous Hollywood movies. It has a variety of exciting and fun attractions themed after popular movies and characters, such as Jurassic Park, JAWS, Harry Potter, Spiderman, and Minions. Recently, there have been numerous collaborations with famous anime and manga. Seasonal events and limited-time attractions, such as Halloween and Christmas, are also available at the park throughout the year. Aside from the attractions, the merchandise collections at Universal Studios Japan are extremely popular with visitors. Limited edition products of popular characters such as Minions, Sesame Street, Hello Kitty, and others are available here! At the park, you can also get cute character-themed food and drinks. 03.Osaka Castle Osaka Castle, a symbol of Osaka, is one of Japan’s most magnificent castles. This significant historical monument represents the great history of the sixteenth-century Azuchi-Momoyama period. Hideyoshi Toyotomi, one of Japan’s most famous unifying warlords, ordered the castle’s construction in 1583. It was then destroyed by fire and repaired several times. Its current form dates from 1931 when it was rebuilt. When is illuminated at night is gives out a magical ambience. The new interactive exhibition, which opened in 2013, allows visitors to get close to these sea creatures. 05.Tempozan Ferris Wheel With a height of 112.5 meters and a diameter of 100 meters, Tampozan is the Japan’s largest Ferris wheel. It takes fifteen minutes to complete one rotation, so you’ll be able to take your time ascending into the sky. Another attraction of the Ferris wheel is that you can see a full view of Osaka and look down at the ocean spread out before you. When the weather is clear, you can see Mt Ikoma, Kansai Airport, the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge, and Rokko Mountain. You can have a ride even at night when it is illuminated by colourful LED lights. 06.Minoo Falls If you want to enjoy nature in Osaka, take the train to Minoo Park. This large park is famous for hiking and viewing autumn leaves. You can hike up the mountain trail for about 40 minutes to find the magnificent Minoo Falls, with a clear stream nearby. This waterfall was also named one of Japan’s Top 100 Waterfalls. The maple trees start to change colour during the fall foliage season, making the surrounding scenery look absolutely gorgeous. Despite being rebuilt several times over the centuries, this beautiful temple remains the oldest religious site to be officially administered. The site’s five-story pagoda and several other beautifully decorated buildings are highlights of a tour. The Golden Pavilion, with its fine paintings and statues, the Lecture Hall, and a lovely covered corridor connecting three of the site’s gates, is the best. Spend some time exploring the site’s lovely garden as well. 08.Osaka Expo Park Osaka Expo Park is a large park located about 20 kilometres away from Osaka’s central area. The park was initially built as the site of the Osaka Expo ’70, but it is now a popular tourist destination. It is best known for the symbolic "the Tower of the Sun". It was created by Taro Okamoto, a well-known Japanese artist, and stands approximately 70 meters tall. Visitors can have a lovely experience in rich nature far from the bustling city at Osaka Expo Park, famous for cherry blossom and autumn leaf viewing seasons. Don’t forget to pay a visit to the shopping centre Expocity opened next to the park in 2015. 09.Kuchu-Teien Observatory Umeda Sky Building is a high-rise building with a spectacular observation deck located in Kita district near Osaka and Umeda Stations. For its unique structure and shape, it is one of the world’s most admired architectures. Its distinct triumphal arch-like shape will catch your attention. The Kuchu-Teien Observatory is on the 40th floor, the building’s top floor. From the rooftop, you can enjoy a 173-meter-above-ground 360-degree panorama of the city. If you visit in the evening, you will be treated to a stunning night view which is among Japan’s Top 100 Night Views. 10.Shinsekai Shinsekai is one of Osaka’s most attractive and unique districts, where you can experience the true spirit of old Osaka. It’s an old downtown area where the nostalgic, post-war vibe remains. Shinsekai’s streets are lined with colourful and retro shop displays, making it one of Osaka’s most popular photo spots. Tsutenkaku Tower, Shinsekai’s symbol, was built in 1912 to resemble the Eiffel Tower in Paris. Its observation deck offers a great view of this charming neighbourhood and Osaka City. Stop to dine at one of the fugu restaurants, or grab a quick bite at one of the Kushi-katsu restaurants, which serve deep-fried, fish, breaded meat, and vegetables on skewers. 11.Osaka Tennōji Zoo & Park Tennōji Park is Osaka’s largest green space which offers all a place to rest, away from the city’s hectic pace. The park is known for its numerous fragrant flower beds and, in the spring, its cherry blossoms, and it is a joy to explore thanks to its many ponds, fun sculptures, and bridges. It also houses some of the city’s most popular tourist attractions, such as the Osaka Tennji Zoo. Since its launch in 1915, Osaka Tennoji Zoo is Japan’s third-oldest zoo. Approximately 1,000 animals of roughly 200 species are on the site, which attempts to recreate natural habitats as much as possible. In the African Savanna Zone, you can see lions and hippopotamuses; in the Asian Tropical Rainforest Zone, you can see chimpanzees and deer; and in the Aviary Zone, you can see black swans and polar bears. 12.Sennan Long Park Sennan Long Park, also known as Sennan Rinku Park, opened as a modern nature spot near Kansai International Airport in 2020. It is bounded by Tarui Southern Beach and Sennan Marble Beach, among Japan’s top 100 best sunset spots. This tropical beach park is divided into four sections. They are the Activity Area for sports, the Marché Area for fresh seafood from Okadaura Fishing Port, the Community Area for BBQ and restaurants, and the Glamping Area for a luxury villa stay. 13.Kuromon Market This is the market where you can feel the city’s unique energy. Kuromon Market, also known as Kuromon Ichiba, is one of Western Japan’s largest markets, with 180 stores. The market has a 190-year history and is known as "Osaka’s Kitchen" because it sells a wide range of food products, from fresh seafood to dried groceries. In this marketplace, there are approximately 180 shops selling quality meat, fresh fish, and fruit, and restaurants for you to dine-in. This Market is always packed with locals, and many professional chefs come here to find high-quality ingredients. It’s also the best place to try Osaka’s authentic street food and to learn more about Osaka’s food culture. 14.Abeno Harukas Abeno Harukas, the tallest building in Japan, stands for an incredible height of 300 meters! The shopping floors extend up to the eleventh floor and include clothing stores, general merchandise stores, and other businesses, while the 12th to 14th floors are restaurant floors. These floors house 44 restaurants serving everything from sushi, tempura, and unagi to French and Italian cuisines. After sampling these Osaka specialities, climb up to discover the Abeno Harukas Art Museum, located on the sixteenth floor which exhibits artworks from all over the world. The observation decks are located on the 58th to 60th floors. This building offers so much at one place. So, it might be one of the best ways to spend your day. 15.Hirakata Park Hirakata Park, founded in 1910, is one of the best places in Osaka for families and couples to spend the day. Although it is kind of new to international level, this has the longest history in Japanese amusement parks.
