[Music] [Music] we wish you a merry [Music] pretty sure all these gifts are not gonna work what’s up fellow journeyers so what do you do about this real life dilemma of people who either live in a small space and can’t have that much stuff thanks for making the bed that was very nice so what did you want cream yeah or maybe you just know somebody that doesn’t want that much stuff uh we think you give the gift of journey you hit the road because you love experiences and you have put experiences over things in life it doesn’t mean you don’t love receiving a gift i mean i know it’s one of my top love languages but at the same time what do you give someone that has minimal space and maybe wants an experience over things so we’ve got five gift ideas for you guys and how about guarantee one or two of these you have probably never heard of or thought of and they are about giving the gift of journey so number one you have probably heard of this you have probably seen this you have seen us go there but maybe it didn’t cross your mind that this could be a gift that you can give for christmas did you know that the national park has gift cards we love the national parks honestly i think it’s a really big bang for the buck with the national park pass you get admission to all the national parks in the country but you also get admission to a lot of the historical parks the national parks have been so special to our family we have created some of the best memories we’ve flown in alaska over denali we went hiking in the grand canyon and my mother got to join us and it was one of her lifelong dreams to to go into the grand canyon so it was a very bonding experience as a family that that we got to do that you’ve just got some of the most impressive views and hikes and just breathtaking awe in the national parks i don’t know why christmas vacation comes up because the national park system is kind of like the jelly of the month club like that’s the gift that keeps on giving one year membership in the jelly of the month club clark that’s the gift that keeps on giving the whole year year round the gift that keeps on giving we use that pass like crazy we love it stay something we use it’s something we love something that we didn’t even know we needed on the road as rvers but that is to be a part of these clubs or these memberships as an rver two that stand out and really easy to us we thought we would just run into people and it would be easy but looking back our first year on the road was actually really lonely so once we discovered finding community seeking out community within these groups when we attended a full-time family rally that’s when we first made connections and and found community on the road so with this gift you would be giving the barrel we have really enjoyed our driveway surfing experiences it’s just a really great way to connect with people and also just immerse yourself in the community i mean there’s nothing better than getting to have that experience that really just shows you what locals enjoy what they like what’s in the area yeah it’s not just impacting you as an experience it’s also impacting the people you’re staying with had a family connect with us about 9 11 we’ve had families connect with us just about the ups and downs of lives and ask some are genuinely interested in the rv life and you get to connect and share with them in that sense and to me if someone doesn’t have it it’s a great gift that you can give that will be the gift of journey so sometimes these properties can just be a flat piece of land to park for their night which as an rver is gold sometimes we actually struggle to find a flat piece of land on our last route so but over 70 percent of the hosts on boonducker’s welcome offer some sort of hookup which is a bonus for sure and there’s a really good chance it’s going to be a quieter place to park than a lot of other areas you could have parked oh and one time we showed up on someone’s birthday so we actually even got to celebrate with them on their birthday which was super cool so you never know the experience you’re gonna get and for me cake with an occasion is my favorite thing in the world so and hensley loves birthday parties so it was a great experience okay number four maybe used this maybe you haven’t so one of these is new and i love the concept so the one we have heard of groupon we use this a lot in hawaii we’ve also used yes we actually purchased groupon for almost almost every activity we did in hawaii we got to swim with the manta rays at night through a groupon we got to go out on a catamaran ride together and we came across this pod of dolphins that was a groupon experience the possibilities are endless and you can use this all throughout the country and you can pick the activity you want as a family so it’s very adventure based and experience based and there’s something for everybody and a new one that we found when we’re doing this research is called tingly so you pre-pay for an experience for an individual or for a couple and then they choose from those experiences the cool thing i think groupon’s more like an email you get they actually can get like a little tiny box that has the experiences they can flip through they can find the experience there’s hundreds of these all over the united states all over the world too so i think it feels maybe a little bit more like a gift than maybe like groupon would where it’s just like a gift card tour to purchase this is the actual fully paid for experience that they can have and as a way of saying thank you to you guys for just being an awesome part of our experience so this year we wanted to give away one experience through tingly that we’re going to purchase and then give that’s really cool you can actually stay we showed you guys the cog railway i love the cog railway you can stay in the parking lot as part of harvest host and then you can go and hop on the kog railway and go up to mount washington which is an incredible experience and you can literally be part at your experience that’s what’s so neat about harvest hosts is it’s a great way i know for us as families to travel or couples to travel and stretch your legs but also get an experience instead of just staying in an overnight parking lot as you travel through we’ve stayed on farms uh we end up buying like tons of pie and wait it’s so good and hensley gets an experience of like hanging out and doing the farm activities and that kind of thing we didn’t know we could stay there actually but the rv museum in indiana you can stay at the rv music so you’ve got you’ve got museums you’ve got railways you’ve got farms you’ve got wineries you’ve got vineyards there’s a golf package the cool
