Introducing recommended spots in Toyohashi City, Aichi, Japan. This time, as part of the “Bakery Tour (Spring),” we will be visiting four bakeries in Toyohashi and introducing each shop’s signage, popularity, and recommended products.
“FUSUMANIYA BAKERY” was started by the owner’s desire to make bread that her mother, who suffers from diabetes, could eat every day. Therefore, there is a special focus on health. The nutritional information is written on the product label. They use carefully selected ingredients such as “waxy fiber” (grown locally in “Ishimaki” area) and “Shirakami Kodama Natural Yeast” for their bread ingredients. The bread made in this way is a masterpiece that is low in carbohydrates, high in protein, and high in dietary fiber, and when you bite into it, you can feel the gentle sweetness and flavor. The shop name represents (fusuma (=bran) + mania). Also, the illustration of the shop’s character bird was apparently created by a local artist.
“Boulangerie La Moisson” is a bakery run by the owner, a baker who has been honing his skills for over 30 years. It’s a small shop that can accommodate just two people, but there are surprisingly many types of bread lined up. Among them, there is a wide variety of hard breads. This is a simple yet delicious bread with a firm texture and a wonderful wheat aroma, and is especially recommended. Also of interest are pastries and slightly unusual side dish breads. All are small sizes that are easy to try. It is made using mainly local ingredients carefully selected by the owner.
“Natural Bakery Jimocy” is a shop with a friendly atmosphere, featuring the shop’s mascot character “Jimo-kun” and the owner’s handwritten “Jimocy Newsletter”. The bakery’s name comes from the reverse reading of the town name, “Shimoji”. This bakery bakes various types of bread in small quantities many times a day, so you may find it freshly baked, but it may not be lined up in the showcase. If there is a product you are looking for, we recommend making a reservation. All breads are made with carefully selected domestic wheat. There are a variety of products, including ones made with natural yeast and seasonal ones, but the panini is their signature product. Their hamburger panini, a collaboration product with the local Western restaurant “Grill Hinemosu”, is popular.
“pêche” is located in an inconspicuous location in a residential area, but it always has a steady stream of customers. The impressive exterior with beautiful plantings and unique buildings, as well as the delicate and stylish interior, match the atmosphere of the bread offered by “pêche”. Their stylish and beautiful breads are a delight for both the eyes and the palate. There are a wide variety of breads, but each one has its own characteristic dough, so it’s easy to see why each type of bread has its own fans. Among them, milk French bread and pudding are especially popular. If there is an item you are looking for, we recommend that you arrive early to avoid it being out of stock.

This is "Toyohashi Walking with a Cat". A channel that introduces our recommendation together with cats. This time, it’s "Bakery Tour" (Spring). We will introduce four bakeries in Toyohashi. Today’s guide: Midori Now, let’s go to the first bakery! The name of the bakery comes from "fusuma (bran flour) + mania". Humorous, isn’t it? The origin of their bread is bread using "bran flour". Now, they hardly use bran flour, but they left it in the name of the bakery. They are very particular about "health. For example, take a look at this. The results of JFRL analysis are displayed. These carefully selected ingredients are used for the bread. There are two main types of the bread. There is also a set that includes a variety of breads. Interesting name! Muscle Bread? I’m curious. Let’s take a look at the showcase. There are various kinds of sandwiches made of bread rolls. The bread roll is the signature product of "FUSUMANIYA". Low in sugar, high in protein, rich in minerals, and etc. It is packed with good things for the body. So cute! Chocochip Breads (It’s hard to see because of the reflection.) Their bread rolls are just so filling. There are also several hearty side dish breads. One with a big sausage, then there are ones with shiso leaves from Toyohashi. There are several varieties. Toyohashi is the largest producer of shiso leaves in Japan. I found a product that caught my attention! It looks delicious with lots of shrimp on it. There is a display introducing the shops of the owner’s friends. There were also displays of cute cats. Also, let me introduce you to this! There is a "dwarf’s house” somewhere in the shop. Please look for it if you like. "They are currently offering great value services. (Get one with purchase of 1,500 yen or more.)" "FUSUMANIYA BAKERY", thank you very much. Next, the second bakery! "Hello!" This bakery is run by the owner alone. It is a small bakery with a capacity of about 2 people. But there is a surprisingly large variety of breads. French bread of various flavors are lined up in rows. "La Moisson’"s signature products are these, hard breads such as baguettes. Freshly baked breads are lined up one after another. There is a really good selection of hard breads. The bread has a firm texture and the aroma of wheat. The owner’s skill is packed in this simple bread. Breads are compactly arranged in a small shop. Now let’s look at the shelf on the right. It is a crispy surface bread as you can see. There are a variety of side dish breads. Some of them are a bit unusual. Then sweet pastries that everyone loves, are also various types. They are all small in size, so children and those who want to eat a little at a time can try a variety of them. Croissants are also available. They are crispy and crunchy. Cat ornaments are decorated here and there in the shop. The owner seems to be a cat lover. "La Moisson", thank you very much. "The third bakery!" Information on recommended products using seasonal ingredients, etc. The name of the bakery is derived from the name of this area, "Shi-mo-ji". Lovely! The shop has a cute atmosphere, and has cute decorations. Cats’ one The hedgehog "Jimo-kun", is the original character of the bakery. You can find "Jimo-kun" here and there in the shop. Mini-sized breads are lined up. Original bags with an illustration of "Jimo-kun" are on sale! Baked bread is being delivered. Today’s lineup These are a series of breads made with natural yeast. They bake 3 to 4 loaves of various kinds several times a day, so if you are sure you want it, it is best to make a reservation. Seasonal breads are available. Seasonal "oyaki" rolls. And panini is a signature item at "Jimocy". This hamburger panini is a collaboration with a local restaurant, "Grill Hinemosu". This pizza is also a seasonal item. Salted rolls, croissants, etc. (I couldn’t take a good picture.) Mini-melon pastries are also available. Here is the shop’s newsletter "Jimocy Tsushin". The owner’s handwriting makes me feel warm. "Jimocy", thank you very much. Finally, the fourth bakery! This stylish-looking bakery is located in a quiet residential area. Breads are neatly arranged in the small shop. Customers are constantly coming in. Even as I was filming, more and more items are becoming out of stock. It is amazing. Lovely display Atmospheric chairs Stylish cold storage There are sandwiches and pudding in it. Open! Pudding is very popular. What kind of bread do they have? I’m sorry that the product shelves are a little empty. If there is a bread that you want, please come early. This is also popular. A clerk is cutting bread. Breads are neatly arranged. The breads lined up in the shop are somewhat stylish. Of course, the taste is so great, but the bread is also "great" to the eye. I was curious about all of them, and end up with a tray full of them. So happy! "pêche", thank you very much. “There were a lot.” How was the Bakery Tour Spring? There are so many delicious bakeries in Toyohashi that I can’t introduce them all. Spring is for Maggie seems to be a sleepy season as usual. Maybe it’s always a sleepy season for her.
