I visited the stunning hidden gem of Mount Moiwa in Sapporo, Hokkaido. I ascended to the mountain’s summit via the ropeway and enjoyed panoramic views of Sapporo from the observation deck.

here we go I like it when it’s not uh when it’s not crowded you see almost the the whole viewing platform is to myself wow what a beautiful view of this beautiful major city is the fifth largest city in Japan and it’s the largest city on Hokkaido Island [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] here we go I got off the uh the street car are right there and I am on my way to a beautiful mountain that gives me a beautiful view but I need to find my way to the robway to go all the way up so I’m going to that MOA Mo MOA shuttle bus and it’s a free shuttle that will take me to the robway station and from there I will buy the ticket to go all the way up today is going to rain and I hope it’s not going to ruin my uh filming uh this is the bus here that’s the timing okay all right arato see I’m the only one on the bus the whole bus is to myself right there you see uh pay here or free no pay no pay free free okay thank you okay it’s free bus ride but this roadway is not free and I’m sure it’s going to be expensive we will find out but uh I don’t see a lot of people and the ticket information is on the fourth on the fourth floor all right we will go up I guess that’s where I am going right there you see let’s goway all right wow the place is nobody you look nobody’s here so no lie nothing maybe because the weather is not good today let’s get the ticket good you are all right I get the ticket right here 2,100 Yen all right let’s go [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] think [Music] all right looks like this is the middle station and we’re transferring to another cable car so the journey is not over yet right [Music] here all right let’s go [Music] [Music] [Music] all right I hope this is the the top so we had to transfer from the Rope way to the mini cable [Music] car and I guess this is the observation deck right there there is a souvenir shop as well and also a restaurant that’s what I gathered online small Cafe right here but I would like actually to go to the observation uh deck to get a view of the beautiful city of Subaru there we go I like it when it’s not uh when it’s not crowded you see almost the the whole viewing platform is to myself customers wishing to use the mini cable car please proceed to that’s useful information boarding platform you can hear it it’s very nice when they have uh somebody explains in English makes life easy wow what a beautiful view of this beautiful major city is the fifth largest city in Japan and it’s the largest city on Hokkaido Island and uh so far it’s actually my favorite City my favorite my favorite major city in Japan I should say I visited Tokyo I visited saai I visited hoshima I visit vised Osaka this is my favorite major city for some reason I don’t know why and I have not uh filmed a lot here in um in sabaru in the in the last two days because I used that time to to relax and recharge my battery so to speak let’s take a look at the view on the other side right here this view is stunning right here the nature in U on Hokkaido island is uh amazing I’m not sure if there is a way to go down there or not I would like to go outside right there we will uh we will figure it out but first I need to go to the take a look on the other side and um it’s nice that they give you the uh the map right here and they tell you the uh elevation and the the names of the of the spots I get I guess but it’s in uh Japanese unfortunately so you will need to pull up your Google Translate app and uh and figure that out if you are interested when you are here you will be using uh your Google translator AB a lot in [Music] Japan you see there is actually a way to to go down there and if you don’t want to take the uh the cable car and the rway there is a way to hike down but I would not I would not recommend that because it’s almost uh it’s almost in the middle of nowhere and you don’t want to to face any bear because Hokkaido it’s called The U the Alaska of uh of Japan and it’s full of uh Bears there is actually um a bear uh Park very far away from here about 2our train ride from sabaru and I’m not um quite sure if I’m going to visit that uh region or not I haven’t decided yet because it’s quite u a journey to to get there but I am falling in love with this uh View and it’s actually looks nice when it’s uh cloudy like this as opposed to to the U when the weather is sunny I I prefer I prefer this kind of weather if it’s not uh windy and there is a small uh Bell right here I’m not sure what that Bell is for or or even if I am allowed to ring it I don’t know here we go there we go wow isn’t that amazing you know the um I I named my channel wander bill I think I explained that in one of my videos in Germany and I came up with that name because I like to wonder around the world and I uh started my adventures in Europe and um while walking in those small villages in Europe I I see a lot of uh churches with beautiful bills and at the time I started uh my YouTube things and I was wondering what should I name it so I came up with The Bell the name Bell because I like the uh the bells that I I saw in in Europe so let’s go now to to the lower level right there to see what’s uh what’s up the what’s down there to take a quick look of the uh of some of the trails see the other floor is called The View Lobby and earlier we were at the observatory but where is the view Lobby this is a [Music] restaurant here we go but it’s closed it’s closed okay it looks like there is another way to go outside and I asked one of the staff here but they don’t speak uh they don’t speak English at all it’s really challenging to to communicate um here in Japan even the young people are don’t know uh English at all so I wonder uh if they travel outside the Japan how will they communicate with uh with the other people you know in in when they travel uh outside their country even the young people cannot speak English I mean they’re not obligated to to learn English but it will be in their best interest to to learn it for their uh for their benefits you know because nowadays when they get a job in the future I mean most most likely they will need to communicate with with uh other companies outside their country and most likely they will need to speak uh English to communicate with uh with their clients or customers that are not Japanese outside Japan but is this uh let me guess I don’t think this is a shrine and I’m not quite sure if it’s a temple but it looks like uh some kind of a a shop souvenir shop I guess I see I see what I see uh let’s let’s take a look yeah it’s kind of uh maybe it’s a temple but they don’t have the name and this is where the the trail starts so the gentleman that explained to me how to get to this area he had to pull up his uh Google translator app and uh and that’s how he communicated with uh with me so it’s kind of uh hustle a little bit but this is actually the the trail I guess to go down if you don’t want to to take the the rway but I got the ticket the ticket that I got is a round trip going up and down for the roadway and the mini cable car that you saw earlier for both but I am actually doing a little bit of uh hiking here just to get a glimpse of the of the area and see what it offers because I’m very paranoid when I see any uh any warning for bears and Hokkaido like I said before it’s full of bears so uh I just want to walk a little bit further to see what I’m going to come across but it looks like it’s a almost uh a forest major forest in the middle of nowhere and I am by myself by the way I when I was on the at the observation uh deck up there there was only one guy with me and other than that nobody and I think it’s because the um not a lot of people visit uh Hokkaido as far as tourists and also the Japanese uh the local tourists they finished their something called uh the golden week so the golden week is over the Golden week is like a national holiday that lasts for one week in Japan and I don’t recommend you travel to Japan during the golden week because the prices are inflated and the everything is uh expensive as far as hotels and also the flights and the train will be very very crowded and that’s what I noticed when I was in uh suai I visited matsushima and um yamadera those are very popular places to visit and it were they were super crowded full of uh Japanese uh Travelers because of the uh the golden week and so do not travel to Japan during the golden week um just uh plan accordingly if you do want to avoid the crowd and if you don’t want to spend spend that much money on on hotels and uh right there the the trail continues but I’m not going to do that I will try to go to the other side because there is a trail back on the on the other side and also I don’t want like I said I am uh scared of uh Bears they have a map here that might be helpful right there but unfortunately it’s in Japanese characters and the only English sentence that I see here is wildlife protection area Hokkaido you see a small parking right there I guess if you if you drive here maybe maybe this is where you uh you park I don’t know and here seems to be another another um hiking trail but there is a sign I mean there is information in English right here which is really really helpful now I know that we are at 531 MERS above sea level see I did not know that 531 m above sea level doesn’t sound High to Me Maybe that’s not that’s that’s why I’m not uh struggling with breathing because it’s not really high that high elevation but wow look at the the nature that is uh surrounding me from all from all sides see uh it looks like they have more than one Trail and I’m not quite sure where this will lead you but I see the cable the mini cable car goes this way which tells me that if you want to hike back most likely this is the trail to use if you buy uh only one way ticket to go up and then you decide to to continue your Adventure Hiking down then I guess this is the uh the the trail to use but the environment uh is stunning right there so I’m going to use my favorite sentence which is I always say when I am in the middle of nowhere surrounded by this beautiful nature I say everywhere everywhere I look is beautiful everywhere you look up you look down you look left you look right you look behind you everywhere is beautiful wonderful not only that it’s also Serene very Serene environment where you you happen to find yourself by yourself in the middle of nowhere you know in the middle of nowhere in uh Japan in a in a remote region of Japan and that is Hokkaido so uh I want to continue a little bit hiking down and just to to get another glimpse of this particular area but I have to be very conscientious of where I am stepping because it’s really raining now and the trail is a little bit slippery even though my shoes you look at my shoes they are waterproof waterproof shoes see the Bell for the for the mini um cable car that means it’s coming soon so I’m wearing these uh this pair of shoes they are good for walking and also for extreme environments such as the one that I am going through right now and I’ve had them now for almost 2 years I use them in uh many many countries that I have visited and the cable car is uh coming soon here is the cable car right there you see wow I want to see what uh what sign that is I think you know what I think the middle the middle uh station I’m not that far from the middle station by the way I can walk I’m going to continue walking to the middle station and then I will take the robway uh from from there I’m not quite sure what this sign uh says if you speak uh German I mean if you speak uh Japanese let me know what this sign is because I’m very lazy to pull up my phone and uh and and open gole Google translator and and point the camera at the at the sign to translate that for me I’m too lazy for that especially when I do my uh filming I like to to carry my camera with one hand and I like to keep the other hand free I don’t want to use uh carry the phone because if you fall right here you slip right here there is a chance that you might break your phone you break your phone screen and if that happens it’s a disaster I would rather lose my camera than than my phone because I treat my phone like uh gold because the uh if you lose your phone the life my life will get dis uh disrupted because it will take me at least three days to to figure out how to trans to transfer all the data to another new phone and then what to do with my Us phone number to activate the U the same Us phone number on the new phone because it’s very hard to activate a new esm card for the US phone number if you are outside the US because they most of the time they require you to be in the US to communicate with the US Towers cell towers to activate your phone number your Us phone number I don’t want to fall into that uh situation because I’m not planning to to go back to the us anytime soon I am on my adventure for at least a year minimum and that is why I treat my phone like gold I don’t want to lose it and I don’t want to break it so I’m almost I’m almost there right there hopefully they allow me to to take the robway from there if there is a if there is a gate to let you in or maybe they will for force you to go back to go back up you know we will see yeah I see that there might be a a gate up ahead right there I do see some kind of a cafeteria with uh some tables [Music] right there but uh I don’t see people the place is like a ghost town right there they have plenty of uh parking big parking lot but I don’t see uh people only security guy right there wearing the the uniform the blue uniform let’s see a nice uh maybe a small Temple up there maybe I should go outside and uh explore this area a little bit more since I am already here but the only problem is the rain sabaru Mount MOA robway all right I made it to the roadway station [Music] wow ghost down nobody’s [Music] here all right before taking the radway I need to to walk a little bit in this area to take a look at this beautiful uh small building I do see something says 100 yen is that does that mean there a ticket to pay or money to donate I have no idea but uh let’s keep uh poking around this area it doesn’t look like they allow you to to go any further and there’s a security guy just behind me he might yell at me if uh if he sees me uh going Beyond this point but I do want at least to capture the the view of this beautiful city I captured most of it when I was on on the roadway the cable car I think yeah I think if you’re driving then this is the place where you park I guess but I’m not uh driving for only one reason because they drive on the left side of the road here in Japan and and I’m not accustom to to that system I don’t want to have unnecessary headache when driving on the left side of the road I drove most of my adult life in the US they drive on the right side of the road so I would imagine driving on the left side of the road will be very difficult especially when you do it the first time and this is another uh Trail right there that I don’t know where it’s going to take you it’s going to take you to two big towers right there the journey to get here is if you are based in sabaru the the heart of the town I am staying in a section called susukino and that’s where you’re going to take the street car that beautiful one that you saw earlier 200 yen one way and then it will drop you off at the the bus um the the station called robway something I forgot the exact name and you take um you take a shuttle bus for free to the r robway uh station and from there you buy your ticket to go all the way up and that cost like 2,100 Yen two ways so I’m going to head back now to to the rway to go down all the way down [Music]
