visiting Japan soon and trying to figure out where to go outside of Tokyo Osaka and Kyoto well Fukuoka might be the place for you fukoka is located in Southwest kushu Island Japan’s thirdd largest island and fukoka is the largest city on that island in one of Japan’s 10 most populated cities now what can you do there what does it have to offer in this video I will show you what we were able to do in a day and a half and other potential things that you can do while you’re there so let’s get into it first how do you get to Fukuoka well you can do it via plane or you can do it via shansen if you’re coming from Tokyo the shin Consin takes about 5 to 6 hours and it’s about 23,000 Yen or if you do it by air it takes about 4 hours and as cheap as 6,000 Yen so by air seems pretty convenient especially if you’re that far in our case we came from Korea so we took a plane from to Fukuoka and that’s where we started off our Japan trip in Fukuoka and being our first time there we had similar questions to the ones you might be having were we going to like Fukuoka how is it different from Tokyo is it really worth going and starting off our trip there well not surprisingly we definitely loved it and we plan to go back now and spend more time in this area so let me share exactly what we did and what you can do as well so if we start once we land landed in Fukuoka the fukoka airport which is not too big but it was really nice uh we went to the information desk uh which is there for tourists and we they were very helpful they guided us to the free shuttle bus that would take you to the train station nearby the airport and once we arrived at that train station we made our way to Hakata station our hotel was nearby this station and just a side note this station is huge it’s super cool they had so many stores on the inside and outside I’m sure you could just spend all the time just there and you would be entertained but we did want to see some things in fukoka so let’s get to that once we got to our hotel we left our bags there and the first thing we did is obviously we went for some Ramen that’s our favorite thing in the winter in Japan and we were excited to visit what is unique there to Fukuoka a Ramen stadium in the canal City and we wanted to taste the original tomato Ramen um there’s a place called tomato Ramen Sami 333 which is the most highly Google rated Ramen Shop in that stadium and there’s multiple options there as well and it was delicious it was a great way to start off our trip and of course we needed to order a highball which is something we discovered on our last and first trip to Japan and we had to have a Ramen and a highball and you again can choose the ramen that you prefer in that Ramen Stadium but definitely check that out and uh we enjoyed this fountain show that they have here or as they call it the canal City canata Sun Plaza stage and here’s a little clip of what we were able to see um it’s kind of unique and we enjoyed it but we did make our way to the Gundam base which is the true reason why we were going to fukoka the Gundam base was huge and had so many Gump kets on display and for sale so we really enjoyed that and it was right there next to Canal City and it’s definitely worth visiting and um just as a side note as well if you don’t mind getting used kits there’s a place in Japan or several of these stores called book offs they’re like an organized better type of Goodwill and on top of all the used items they have there they use they have used gun PL kits as well so you can definitely have fun comparing prices of the new kits and the used kits as well as they have some older kits that are no longer of available for sale in this Gundam base or um unique limited edition ones that you can definitely have fun discovering while you’re there but that was just our half day we actually started our full day in fukoka the next day which was in team lab Forest Fukuoka in the Fukuoka pay pay Dome and we did not book ahead because we weren’t sure exactly how we were going to form the day so we actually got our tickets at the Dome and we had some time to kill because the tickets weren’t going to be in like an hour and a half or something like that after so we decided to go to the MLB Cafe for like an early lunch and it was great as to be expected and then we had coffee at the fuk coffee yes we kind of just went there because of the name but it was delicious and after we finished that we were ready to go to the team lab forest and team lab Forest is about $16 each um right now with currency rate and it’s a cool concept honestly that you get to capture nature in a digital format you capture it on your phone and you’re able to discover these animals like details about them and you get to see uh their extinction level if they’re extinct or if they there’s plenty of them and then once you learn this you can return them into this digital art museum and it’s cool because you can literally see them being captured and disappearing and then you can see them reappearing when you release them and uh we were able to go to the team that planets and borderless in Tokyo and I I have a a video that I made up about that as well as I’m planning to make a more detailed video about Fukuoka uh teen lab but this one is definitely unique from the one the two in Tokyo so I would definitely check that out if you are in fola from there we did like a detour we saw as we were walking up to the paye dome stadium as you can see in this footage this random contraption that was on the rooftop and apparently it’s called SE coaster SE Brothers SMBC ni Securities Inc don’t know why it’s called that but it’s basically an Essence like a big kind of personal swing that you will have a harness and a helmet and you kind of go down this in this sitting in the swing position down a a a coaster looking contraption which is it seems unsafe but then we’re talking about Japanese people making things as safe as possible you’re wearing a helmet you have your harness on as well and it just looked like fun it kind of hangs off the building there’s safety net there but what we didn’t realize until we got up there is that there was an amazing view so it was definitely worth the $10 to do this but you could not film anything that’s the only downside you couldn’t take any pictures you had to take off your shoes and leave all your belongings so there was just no way to get anything outside of what I’m showing you here but that was a cool detailer um it took us like an extra 15 let’s say 15 minutes to do the whole process but in between getting our shoes back on and everything maybe an extra 30 minutes out of our itinerary but definitely worth it from there we went to the fukoka Tower and we walked to the fukoka tower for about 20 minutes cuz the transportation to that area it’s just bus and honestly we don’t like to take the bus especially in certain times cuz we just feel like we’re in the way um so we decided to walk and that way we can discover more of the area and once we got to the actual uh Tower we got a a discount because we had the team lab tickets so I believe it it might have been around $5 or less with a discount and once you get up there uh you have a view of Fukuoka you have like an ocean view you have the City View and there was just cool things to do on there it kind of reminded us a little bit about Soul because they had a very very small section for like love locks and they also had a little section for you to take a picture with the hearts and that’s what we were able to do so that probably took between walking and getting there and doing everything about 2 hours so definitely factor that in if you want to see that and then we went to our main attraction which was an hour away from the Fukuoka Tower so do keep in mind when you are trying to do a a whole day in fukoka that it’s just not as close and convenient as Tokyo but still workable at the laala park Fukuoka you can find the Gundam Park and this Gundam Park is separate from the Gundam base that I spoke about earlier it’s in a completely different area and in this Gundam Park you’re going to find the live siiz Gundam rx93 and you can see this beautiful statue you can see it light up there’s a Gundam side F store as well in the mall and it was just amazing to see it was kind of like a stealth uh hidden among the buildings but once you see it it’s it’s so cool definitely have to check that out if you’re in Fukuoka and we also discovered a great Tatu place which was just delicious it was it looked highend but it wasn’t really that expensive and it was just the best Tatu inside the mall that we’ve ever had so kind of have a image cuz the name is only in Japanese and so you can check it out if you like and there’s other things I can definitely mention that we didn’t get to do that you can do infog because that’s how we ended our day we were dead tired and we were going to leave to beu the next day but things that you can definitely check out is the nakatu hoko which is basically food stalls at night there’s other areas like hon Park and fukoka castle ruins that were on the way to the tower that would have been cool to check out they look uh like beautiful places to just be able to observe and take pictures as well as there’s a Pokemon Center it seems in the Hakata station um so definitely there’s a lot of things to do in just Fukuoka and we’re not talking about the actual kosu Island which looks amazing because there’s a bunch of historic places uh there’s other modern cities as well as a lot of natural beauties it looks like beautiful waterfalls and things along those lines that you can definitely check out in that area one of the places we did end up going to was beu like I mentioned the next day and we were going to beo to take an overnight ferry to get us to Osaka and I did make a video about that so definitely check that out if you’re interested on you know getting an overnight fairy to go to Osaka or vice versa coming from Osaka you can take that overnight fairy to beu and then make your way to Fukuoka I’ll link that video after this one thank you again for watching I hope you can make it to Japan and to Fukuoka very soon and this helped we’ll see you in the next video bye
