Hello, this is YouBoston Travel Channel. We went to Japan after being away for several years and stayed at some Ryokans (Japanese traditional hotels). We would like to share the video we took during our stay. If you like this video, please subscribe to the channel and click the LIKE button. This time we would like to introduce HAKONE NICA near Hakone Gora. Located in the middle of Meiseigatake mountain, Hakone’s outer rim, this all-inclusive luxury hotel is surrounded by nature. All 8 rooms have an in-room half-open-air bath with free-flowing hot-spring water and a view of Hakone in every season. Free-flow beverages from check-in to check-out, so you can enjoy drinks without worrying about additional charges. French and Japanese fusion style meals are served in the dining room or in your room. We were picked up at Gora station by the Ryokan’s car, a Toyota Alphard. The car has a gorgeous interior. Chic and sophisticated entrance Front desk just inside the entrance A wide selection of drinks on the left hand side Lobby lounge overlooking the Hakone mountains We can enjoy the view of Sounzan mountain from the lounge window. It was cloudy that day, but if the weather is good, you can see Mt Fuji. We went through check-in procedures at this lounge. We had champagne for a welcome drink plus fruit wrapped in prosciutto. We were shown the dining room and this time we selected in-room dining for dinner and breakfast. The bar offers a wide variety of alcoholic and soft drinks, free-flowing in the lounge or in your room. We stayed in a Premium Hollywood Twin Room, Room 103 on the 1st floor. When we enter the room, there is a long and narrow desk and chair in front of us, a full-length mirror in the back, a mini-bar on our left, a stool to put our luggage, and a closet. Inside the closet are indoor clothes, bathrobes, and housecoats. There is no dress code. You can go to the dining room and the lounge with indoor clothes. Chilled sparkling wine in a wine cooler A coffee maker and coffee capsules from Caffitaly De’Longhi electric kettle Black tea, green tea and water Open the drawer and you will find coffee cups and saucers, teapot, teacups and saucers, wine opener, snacks, etc. Beer, soda, water and juice in the fridge, all included. In the next drawer, glasses for champagne, wine and beer glasses. The washroom has a large mirror and double sinks. There is a chair, bath towel, and face towel under the sinks. Dyson hair dryer, Omnisance skin care sets, etc. Drawers were provided with hairbrushes, toothbrushes, razors, hair bands, etc. Face and hand soap, and hand towels There was a towel warmer. Bath and face towels were warmed. Marble-clad half-open-air bath with washing area The source is free-flowing hot-spring water. Wall-mounted Smart TV in the living space We had dinner and breakfast here. Balcony overlooking Gora and Sounzan Mountain There is a sunbed to relax and enjoy the fresh air. We ordered some snacks and enjoyed the chilled sparkling wine to last us until dinner. The tablecloths were laid on the table in the living area, and dinner was set up. We asked for a wine pairing for dinner. The first one was champagne. Black olive and cheese gougere as a starter Next, we were served tea made from bonito broth, which is effective in toning the stomach and reducing the absorption of fat. Rosé wine from the South France Paired with appetizers Appetizers, from left to right: crab and aioli sauce over rape blossoms, fried chicken white liver wrapped in kneaded flour Trout caviar on sea urchin French toast Lobster bisque Northern Italian white wine with mango aroma Suruga Bay Red Shrimp Tartar with Smoked Cream Cauliflower mousse with caviar Pinot Noir from Portland, OR, US for the abalone dish Roasted Ezo abalone over round eggplant Red wine and abalone liver sauce with vegetable vinaigrette French Chardonnay paired with fish dishes Yellow grouper topped with sakura shrimps, several kinds of mushrooms and silver bean paste in Japanese broth Hijiki paste for accent Medium-bodied, Merlot-dominant French red wine for meat dishes Eggplant and Beetroot Pesto with Nasu Wagyu Beef Truffle Sauce Purple sweet potato fritters with three kinds of vegetables and lemon foam Dessert paired with a slightly sweet dessert wine from Germany Fresh cheese mousse called fromage blanc Mandarin oranges inside, black pepper and olive oil on top Red Hoppe (strawberry) doughnut, baked pastry and anglaise sauce Yogurt sorbet and strawberry powder in front We had coffee after dinner. We told them it was our wedding anniversary when we made the reservation, so they brought us a cake. They also took a picture of us and presented it to us in a photo frame the next day. It was a wonderful dinner with French-inspired dishes and wine pairings that made the most of the fresh ingredients. The staff brought us Inari for our evening meal. Unfortunately, we were too full to eat more. Breakfast is available in Japanese or Western style. We asked for one Japanese and one Western meal. This is a Japanese meal. Sashimi of flounder, six small bowls of cooked food (kamaboko and pickled wasabi, salted squid, simmered tuna, boiled white fish and greens, cod roe, and one other dish) Salad of local farm vegetables, strawberries and kiwi for fruit Grilled Spanish mackerel with thickly baked egg Lobster with ginger sauce Pumped yuba When a film forms on the surface of the warm soy milk, pump the yuba and serve with smoked soy sauce. When the fire on the tabletop stove goes out, add bittern, mix with a brick and wait for 2 minutes to make tofu. We had freshly made warm tofu. Miso soup with scallion and pickles White rice cooked in an earthenware pot Western-style dishes: lobster with herbs, salad of local farm vegetables, pork ham and sausage, and white vegetable grain soup. 5 kinds of bread and 4 kinds of homemade confiture Ratatouille, seasonal flan, granola, yogurt Onsen egg with salmon roe on top, orange jelly, fruit strawberries and kiwi Both Japanese and Western breakfasts were sumptuous, rich in variety, tender and delicious, with lobsters. Check-out time at this inn was late at 12:00 pm, so we were able to take a relaxing bath again after breakfast. Unfortunately, it was raining outside and we could not see the view of Hakone, but the natural hot spring is always a pleasant experience no matter how many times you bathe in it. Atmosphere, food, hot springs, hospitality We were all satisfied and had a wonderful time. The theme of the hotel is "Anniversary Hotel," and the presentation is wonderful and highly recommended for anniversaries. For access to HAKONE NICA Please refer to the following URL https://hakone-nica.com/access/ Pick-up/drop-off service is available from/to Gora Station of Hakone Tozan Railway. On the way back, we were taken to the station in the hotel’s car, a Maserati. Thank you for watching to the end. We will continue to upload videos, so please support us. We would be happy to receive your comments for future video making.
