James Knott takes a long hike along Route 58 through northern okinawa. He needs to reach Hentona before night creeps in. You should see the size of the centipede he finds along the road.
I’m currently walking to hona it’s about 15 kilom at least that’s the way it looks on the map could be a long long walk if I’m wrong I have a late start leaving Hado misaki and my plan is to hike along Route 58 which follows the coastline there are few farms and signs of civilization but mostly The Rock and jungle quickly climb high above the ocean to my right butterflies dance from flower to flower and nature is all around I’m walking back to hona but I wanted to take a moment to check out the beautiful view right here the mountains go straight down to the Sea and there’s just barely enough room for a car every twist in the road provides a new postcard picture occasionally there is a tiny weathered fishing Village hidden in a protective Cove life moves at a slower Pace on the North End of the island the air is hot and humid and I don’t encounter any annoying mosquitoes or bugs that I was expecting however this dead centipede nearly 7 in in length reminds me that there are a few Creepy Crawlers in the bush I turned just in time to see my friends from earlier in the day riding back to the comfort of their hotels but I want to go the long route I’ve just gone off the beaten path and I found the most spectacular view right at the bottom of this Trail two men fish at the bottom of these steep slopes every twist provides an opportunity to explore but I have to reach hona before night so I have a place to sleep the sun begins its descent to the Horizon and I’m starting to worry that I might not get to hona before it shuts down for the evening I miscalculated how much distance the curvy roads would add to the journey I’m tired and and hungry and as the sun setss I see hona in the distance I’m overcome with a sense of relief well the walk from Ado masaki just about killed me I thought it was 15 km and it turned out to be 20 km those last 5 kilom were pretty hard I finally found a hotel room here in hona a modest room with dinner and breakfast for less than 60 bucks not bad for Japan I better get a good night’s sleep because tomorrow is another day of hiking agile h.com

THanks for the nice feedback. You should subscribe to my videos because I have about 15 more videos about Okinawa to release.
Thanks for subscribing. I had a blast there too. I can't wait to go back. Probably heading back in 2009.
I think it's about a 12 hour flight, but the cost will vary greatly depending on how flexible you are, how many layovers you have and the time of year. $1500-$2500 per ticket.
This video is great and informative.
60 bucks for 1 night per 1 person?
That's correct. There was an even cheaper hotel, but I thought this one seemed slightly nicer. Hentona is probably a little cheaper than the rest of the island, but I found a place for $90 on Kokusai-dori.
you need to watch the rest of my videos.
It would be hard to compete with the intimate knowledge that you have of the island. Thanks for watching. I would love to go back and make more videos.
I have 25 other videos about Okinawa. If you watch all of them it is 70 minutes of footage.
Thanks for posting these! This looks like a great place to visit.
I spent 6 years total out of a 21 year carreer on Okinawa. I REALLY miss it there. Great surfing up north…As good as Hawaii. Fun climbing. Incredible fishing. I lived in Nago and Aha Village. Have fun there!

Thank you for all of your videos
Thanks for watching. You might like Episode number 6 – Family in Nakijin and also the one about Heiwa-Dori which is about shops downtown.
I would have liked to show more people and interactions with people, but since I was filming it myself and there was a bit of a language barrrier it was difficult.
Hi there, how long did it take to travel by bus from Naha city to Hentona? May I know which hotel did you stay in Hentona? How much was it per night?
@jimbronxny Never been to Koza. Where is it?
i had one of those centipedes at 1:06 in my shoe about 6 years ago. I haven't been able to put on shoes without checking to make sure there's nothing in them since T^T
Wow it hardly looks like that anymore. It changed so much.
