greetings from sandai the capital of
mayagi prefecture in Japan so I’m going
to be walking through the streets of
this beautiful city to explore some
sites and one of those sites is that
magnificent big statue so later I’m
going to be climbing all the way up to
the top floor to get a beautiful view of
this uh of this city but first I need to
walk through some uh beautiful streets
to go through beautiful shopping malls
as well so let’s go
[Music]
oh
[Applause]
[Music]
go
all right greetings from
saai City
here in
Japan in myagi
prefecture and I am walking through this
beautiful shopping
mall and from my understanding is that
they have a bunch of
uh
malls connected with each
other and this is the first shopping
mall AR arade as you can
see it’s an
arcade and uh it goes all the way
to to another shopping
mall and
it’s it’s really
really
crowded
so so I arrived
yesterday I took a bus an express bus to
get to this section of the country in
mayagi
prefecture I was in ISO
region and I’m going to be staying in
Senai for
almost a
week
here and it’s a big it’s a big city I
was in a small
City I was was based in a small City and
now I’m switching to one of the biggest
cities in uh in
Japan and I actually decided to come
here because I’m planning to do a lot of
day trips from
suai and you will find out where I am
going as a day trip in the uh probably
in the next
videos and
also I am on my journey to Hokkaido all
the way in the north and I said suai
will be a good uh one we Base to Base
myself for one week before I continue
my my uh journey to to the north to the
northern part of uh Japan and that is
Hokkaido
Island and probably I will stay in
Hokkaido for 2
weeks so we will
see where I’m going to end up if I keep
going and the whole area the whole
uh Street I should say I’m not sure if
this is a street or not it’s it’s kind
of uh almost an outdoor uh shop mall so
to
speak lined
by a bunch of uh stores and I see
McDonald’s
here and McDonald’s uh the prices are
very
very very cheap compared to the
McDonald’s in the
US see the
problem in the US if you are a viewer
from the
US the the problem in the US they keep
raising the prices for example the
McDonald’s company they keep raising the
prices without losing the
customers so if you get a big meal a Big
Mac meal at McDonald’s in the US most
likely you will be spending minimum $15
US that’s in the US
but here in
Japan McDonald’s cannot raise the prices
that much like they do in the US because
they worry about losing
customers so the prices remain almost
the
same one Big Mac complete uh meal with
fries uh french fries and uh drink and
it’s 750 yen
and that
is almost like
$4 and
90 so imagine you’re you’re eating big
Big Mac meal McDonald meal for only
$5 so not even
$5 but if you get the same kind of meal
in the US
$17 at least
and that is what’s happening in the US
uh the inflation uh the prices are going
up because the companies are able to
raise the prices without the fear of
losing their customers so they raise the
prices and the customers continue to
spend the
money but once you go outside the US if
you earn your money in a US
dollar and you spend it outside the US
you get more bang for your
buck so in other words earn your money
in the
US in the US
currency and spend it outside the US
that’s how you maximize the value of uh
of your US
dollar and this is exactly what I am
using and what I am doing actually so
let’s keep going all the way down uh I I
guess there is uh some kind of um look
at this crowd uh coming toward me isn’t
that
beautiful
wow amazing a year and a half ago I was
in Tokyo the famous Crossing uh Street I
forgot what they call it is the biggest
uh
intersection um Crossing intersection in
the world that’s in uh Tokyo you can
watch that video I forgot the name of
that uh part of the city in
Tokyo but
uh but here I think the prices uh are
based on the cost of living are based on
the salaries of the uh of the local
people so companies cannot raise that
much their prices because people will
not be able to afford paying paying that
much but in the the US uh uh the jobs
pays a lot of
money so
uh so they have the uh they have the
consumers in the US the people are
willing to
pay like if you are a software engineer
software developer in the US you you you
probably make over 200 US uh $200,000
easy and sometimes even half a million
dollar a
year so uh for
you um if you make that much
money and you work from home you have
the ability to work from
home and uh and and you decide to spend
that much money outside the US you will
end up saving and investing a lot of
money because you don’t have to to pay
the US
prices if you are a location independent
in other words your job does not require
you to be in the office and your job
does not require you to be in the
US so imagine you take that much money
that kind of money and you come visit uh
Japan and you get a meal for a decent
meal for $8
very nice meal the same kind of meal
that will cost you almost $40 in the US
after paying taxes what’s going on is
this blocked or
what
uh see now now uh it goes two ways
should I go this
way or that
way have no idea we will go we will go
this way I heard that there is actually
a temple inside one of these uh
beautiful
malls maybe I need to pull out my Google
Maps and figure out where that Temple is
and I will resume filming after I find
out see I’m going back to
this mall it’s called clis
Road Mall because Google Maps
is telling me that there is a temple
inside this uh shopping
mall and I am really curious to
see uh what that uh Temple is is like to
be inside the uh the
mall my curiosity is getting the
best of
me the better of me so let’s go
uh continue the uh the subject of
uh of
earning in a US dollar and spend it
outside the US dollar as I at the time
I’m recording this uh video One us is
158 Yen so that’s almost 34 year low
record for the Yen I’m not sure what
happened to the yen
currency but this is a good example of
how you can if you are if you’re earning
in US dollar you can get the
uh more bank for your
buck as opposed to spending that US
dollar inside the US spend it outside
the US and Japan is the perfect location
to do that due to their currency
depreciation so the the temple now is
about a
minute away from where I
am uh
located and this is one of the reasons
why I decided to to visit uh Japan for 2
and a half
months when I saw the yen currency is
getting weaker and weaker by the day
against the uh the US
dollar and surprisingly the prices are
not going up because of this uh currency
depreciation
currency
declining they’re not raising the prices
which is good good for the local people
as well but I’m not sure what’s the
long-term effect on their
economy um well I don’t see any Temple
it says that the temple is here but I
don’t see
it okay I found the temple here is the
temple temple inside
[Music]
the inside the uh shopping
mall I’m not sure if I am allowed
to to film here or
what we’ll just keep filming until
somebody complains and tell me stop
filming
[Music]
see this mall it’s called
Blom and this one is called Sun
mall so the uh the whole
area is
uh is dedicated for shopping malls and
they’re all close to each
other so if you are into shopping this
place will be uh will be heaven for
you and I am trying
to to use the suggestions that I I found
of U one of the uh websites
blogs a lady wrote an
article about uh Cai what to see as far
as walking in the in the town and she
said go to Sun
Mall which is where I am going now and
then it’s going to end in a nice Street
an
open open uh door shopping mall I
think but I would like also to go to
that mall valom I think that’s what they
call it right behind me
we will uh we will get
there there we go so we’re going to go
keep
going and I like to uh to always talk
about the cost of living um outside the
US and uh just if you are new to my
channel I used to do uh slow travel
while I was
working and now I uh I don’t work
anymore I uh I
retired but when I was working as a
software
developer software engineer in back in
California I was earning in us uh
dollars my salary was in US
dollars cuz I am a US citizen I lived in
California
for for uh since 199
9 and during the pandemic I started this
uh something called slow
travel where I take my uh laptop my work
laptop with me I was a location
independent I did not have to be in
California so I was
working while I was outside the US most
of the
time and like staying 2 weeks in one
part of the city and then another 3
weeks and and another country and then
go back to the
US for one month and then repeat the
cycle go to another country for one
month and all that kind of stuff and I
realized that I was spending way less
money than actually living in the US so
every time I go back to the US every
time I go back to the
US I noticed that I
spent more
money so and I said okay let’s uh let’s
continue traveling since I am spending
actually way less money when I travel
outside the
US
but when I was in the US I was paying
the
rent and when I travel overseas I had to
pay for the Airbnb and hotel so I ended
up paying rent twice outside the US and
inside the us and that is why I decided
to sell everything back in the US get
rid of the rent get rid of all that
expensive uh inflated prices that is
going on in the
US and spend that rent that I used to
pay in the US spend spend it in a very
nice hotels in the world anywhere in the
world and I ended up paying actually way
less than what I was paying in the US so
for
example the hotel room in uh in Japan
the average is uh average price look at
that uh a small side street
uh maybe I’ll go back uh later the
average price in the for the hotel room
decent hotel room three room uh three
stars it’s about 55 U uh US
dollar I’m not sure why it’s so cheap
maybe because of the uh like I said the
their yen currency is getting weaker and
weaker by the day and that’s why I I end
up paying 50 to 70 US range for nice
hotels including breakfast and
everything Wi-Fi and I don’t have to pay
for utilities I don’t have to pay for
the internet I don’t have to pay for all
any any any uh utility bill because
everything comes with the
hotel
bill all right I am back to this section
it’s called
vaman vandom shopping
mall it seems a little bit better this
this uh this
one so I got rid of the rent back in the
US and now the the the amount of rent
that I used to pay in the
US was way way higher than what I
pay for
hotels outside the uh the US and the
good thing about the
hotels is that you don’t have to worry
about
housekeeping and uh and also you change
the
environment uh more frequently like if
you don’t like one area you’re not stuck
in that same area for 6 months or one
year like if you have the rent back in
the US you are you sign a lease that
force you to stay for 6 months or one
year but I don’t have that uh
restriction anymore so if I don’t like
the
area I go to another
one and this is the beauty of staying in
uh staying in
hotels and then I also stay in uh Airbnb
accommodation if I am staying in once in
a certain area for more than a
week I I always choose an apartment like
Airbnb I don’t uh like to stay in a
hotel for more than a week because the
hotel rooms are small and it doesn’t
give me the the feel of uh living like
uh the locals
since I’m traveling slow slow travel I
don’t call myself uh a tourist anymore
because the style of traveling that I do
is not vacation this is my life this is
my daily routine now my daily
routine uh and I don’t go out every
day the some days I just uh
relax and sit and go to the local
uh coffee shop where people uh where the
local people hang
out and also where the expats um us uh
what they call that US citizens who live
abroad you can find them in Facebook uh
groups in every country that you
visit if you happen to be from the US
and you and you’re traveling slow and
you’re staying in one country for more
than a month and you get bored or you
get homesick
I suggest you
uh let me let me switch the camera to
this side I suggest you go to Facebook
and you look for those
groups xats groups and there is no
shortage of them you will you see a
bunch of
them so I started using that
technique back uh when I was in uh
Peru when I was in Peru I I I decided to
stay in one of the uh historic
towns in Peru close to Machu
picu and I wanted to see if there are
any local uh if there are any uh
Americans who who live there uh long
term and I did find them through uh
Facebook so it now it has become a habit
every time I go stay in one city
for 2 weeks or more that will be the
source of the information that I get I
go to Facebook and look for those xats
people you uh Americans who live outside
the US or Americans who work for us
companies but they do leave outside the
US to maximize their value of earnings
in US dollar like I said once you find
out a way to earn in US
dollar and uh your job is location
independent and you figure out way to to
stay away from the inflation that is
going on in the US by staying in a
decent country outside the US that is
very decent and very um cheap and Japan
happens to be one of them it’s a it’s a
nice uh it’s a nice country very
safe nice people it doesn’t get better
than it doesn’t get better than that the
only problem that you might face is the
language barrier because Japanese not a
lot of Japanese people speak uh speak
English for some reason I don’t know why
even the young people they don’t uh seem
to speak uh
English they’re not obligated to they
don’t have to but I would
say as a
um as an um see I speak English as my
second
language and I always recommend anybody
to learn at least one foreign language
in addition to the language that they
that they
speak so if you are an American and your
English is your native uh
language I suggest you pick a language
another language that is why ly spoken
in in more than one
country and I would say probably you
should uh pick
either uh Spanish or Arabic if you are
if you’re English is your first language
and I say Spanish because there are so
many countries that speak
Spanish and I say or Arabic because
there are so many countries that speak
Arabic but if you do speak uh if you
learned French yes French is a good
language to speak to learn but keep in
mind that how many countries you will uh
you will be able to to use the French
when you go outside the US same thing
for German if you speak German if you
learn German how many countries speak
German not that money but Spanish is
different you will utilize Spanish
language when you visit South America
many countries in South
America speak uh speak Spanish and
Arabic many countries in North Africa
almost all of them speak
Arabic and how many countries in the
Middle East speak
Arabic do you see what I am going but
now I chose to learn English because
English is the uh is my second language
my first language is Arabic so when it
when time came to to pick a foreign
language to speak to learn English was
one English was on the top
because that’s what I usually use when I
travel overseas outside the US people do
speak uh do use English to
communicate so let’s go now and find out
what that uh event is all about there is
some kind of uh
performance going on right
there yeah I’m not
sure what they have right
here like an event or something like
that but I am actually trying to walk
that um
walking
path that is uh covered by uh all these
beautiful
trees I think the nickname of this uh
town is
uh is the cities the city of trees I
think and I am not sure why they gave uh
they gave it that nickname cuz I don’t
see a lot of uh
trees I do see trees here but not in the
other sections of the of the city and I
came from a region full of nature full
of mountains and uh so this does not
impress me at
all so so I’m going to walk there and I
will resume my uh my
subject all right let’s get to that uh
beautiful uh
path right here this reminds me of the
Walk that I did in Mexico
City in uh in a very nice neighborhood
called Roma and
[Music]
condesa and I did almost uh similar
video where I spent most of my time in
that video Blah Blah Blah you know
talking
nonstop and that video got almost uh
10,000 over 10 ,000 views and I was
really
shocked I was not expecting uh to get
that kind of uh
traffic I’m really shocked because most
of my videos
are they get like 50 views 100 views 200
views that’s that’s
normal and the reason why I get less
views is because the
uh when I give the title the video title
the uh like for example this
video if I want to upload it to
YouTube the title that I’m going to use
I’m not going to say anything
like uh exploring uh suai or top places
in suai or shopping malls in suai I’m
not going to do that because I’m trying
to avoid the traffic that comes from the
search people who are searching for
keywords using the the
search they those viewers tend to have
uh they’re looking for
quick quick uh
answer they don’t want long videos they
don’t want video where blah blah blah
talking n
nonstop so I am trying to avoid that
kind of
traffic uh uh
views I am targeting the
people who are seeing the videos on the
homeage page and who are watching the
videos from their TV using YouTube on
their TV uh the app because that is
where most of my views are coming
from when the views come from TV as
opposed to the laptop or iPad or iPhone
those people have
long attention um span because they’re
willing to to sit down grab a cup of
coffee and watch the video you know as
opposed to those people who are
just um looking for quick
answer so uh so that is why I don’t um
optimize my videos uh what they call it
SEO search engine optimization
keywords to put in my
video because I will get more views
but those views actually hurt the uh the
channel because people click on the
video they watch 10 seconds 5 Seconds 20
seconds and they exit because they’re
not the Right
audience but when I look at my
uh Google analytics YouTube
analytics YouTube shows
me where most of my traffic comes
from and over 60% of people who watch
watch my videos they watch the
uh the
videos of their
TV their high definition big TVs and
that what surprised
me and I said wow and this is why I’m
trying to when I make a video when I
edit a
video I always keep that in mind that my
my uh main
audience actually uses the uh their TV
to watch my my videos because only 40%
of people who watch my videos they watch
it from their computer laptop or
iPad so I always keep that um in mind
and this is why I get
more uh watch time people do spend time
watching the uh the videos when they
watch it from their TV so I think there
is some kind of uh
um a a garden or a park up ahead but I’m
trying to
navigate this uh traffic it’s kind of
tough to to
film and walk and
talk so here you go
hopefully I get a nice uh area to to
film and there is another statue right
here I have no idea what that statue use
for so if you are
U if you watch uh
YouTube let me know what what do you use
do you use your laptop or your
iPhone or your iPad or your TV to watch
uh
videos if you do
use TV then most most likely you you
spend um more time watching uh the video
but if you are using your computer
probably you’re just
uh watching videos for 1 minute 2
minutes
max and uh and this is the good thing
about YouTube they figure out um who the
uh the Right audience is it’s very nice
uh area it seems to be a nice area if I
keep uh going that
direction but I have to wait for the for
the light lights the green lights to
walk all right I got to this park that I
have no idea that there is actually a
park
here like almost
99.99% of all my
videos I have no I don’t plan what I’m
going to um film I don’t plan at all all
my videos are unscripted even the
subjects that I um that I talk about
they’re not uh they’re not planned in
advance so let’s capture the The View
that I
see right here I see a
river but uh yeah I do see a
[Music]
river so in the course of this
video probably I uh talk
about many
subjects and all those subjects came out
randomly I did not plan to talk
about so if you
noticed I talked about
uh the cost of
living a little bit about the cost of
living in
Japan and then I talked about a little
bit about personal finance
for those people who earn in US dollars
if they can find ways to become lo
location
independent and try to find ways to
spend most of their time outside the US
to maximize the value of their US dollar
so that is the subject number two and
subject number three is uh when you
travel long term and you get homesick
how do you deal with
that I a little bit U cover that subject
and I told you how you do it you will be
surprised that you’re going to find
local people of your country you don’t
have to be in from the US any country
you are from you will find a
group um if you are on uh Facebook you
will find Facebook group for your
country people group of people who
live outside uh your country and they
live in the country that you are
visiting
you will find those uh those groups so
that’s if you get homesick and you want
to to socialize with the people who
speak your language who you know from
your
country so I covered that subject and
then another
subject you know I showed you
um I told you that
living outside the US is actually I mean
traveling outside the US fulltime is
actually cheaper
than living in the US
full-time so I covered four four
subjects in this
video and when I upload my video I have
no idea what I’m going
to uh name it what I’m going to um the
title of the video I’m not sure what’s
what kind of title will be because I’m
not I don’t want to get the wrong
audience I don’t want to say exploring
Cai
Japan or you know walking through that
uh shopping mall and I put the name of
the shopping mall in the title because
people when they watch my video I’m
talking about random different
subjects not related to uh syai at all
but the only thing you get out of this
video is that uh you get a sense of what
um what the city is all about while I am
uh talking about these subjects even
though the subjects do not meet your
interest you might learn something you
know you will learn something you’re not
going to get nothing out of my video
unless unless if you are
100% the wrong audience but that is not
my fault it’s YouTube fault that they
recommended the video to
you but every time YouTube recommends my
video to the wrong audience that is
actually a good
sign because YouTube is trying to is
trying to try my video against different
groups different from the people that
usually watch my videos to see their
reaction so every time I get uh a nasty
comment or anything like that I know
that they are totally wrong audience but
it makes me happy that YouTube expanded
the uh the uh the network the uh the
circle of the recommendations the they
went outside uh their comfort zone to to
recommend the video to more to more
people but once they discover that you
are totally the wrong person they uh
they don’t recommend the video any
future video for uh to you anymore so
the that the system is smart to figure
that out and what is this uh Monumental
right here it looks like I reached the
end of this
Park and there is a beautiful
um beautiful big big statue huge statue
here in sundai that I would like to find
out how to get there but I’m 100% sure I
need to take some kind of uh Subway or
bus to get there it’s not uh that uh
close to where I am
now see the
Adventure
Continues and I do see the park
continues right there on the other side
I have to walk this
bridge and maybe there is some kind of a
a nice uh historic building right there
I can see it but I have no idea what
that building is all about I hope it’s
one of the uh interesting places that I
need
to visit
yeah it looks like it’s a a local park
here along
the the the river I think maybe there is
no River
here it’s a coastal town uh cindai is a
coastal
town and I don’t know if you remember
the uh the big earthquake in March 11
2011 big earthquake and tsunami
hit this uh
City uh back then and it
uh it really damaged the uh the city big
time and there is what there is uh a
beautiful Temple
here the actual um damage caused by the
tsunami not the actual uh earthquake
because most buildings here in Japan are
earthquake proof buildings
they’re very uh they use very very
sophist sophisticated system to for
their buildings to
withstand the strongest uh
earthquakes uh this is what a temple
right
here I guess it’s a
temple but the the walk on the other
side seems to be nice uh seems nice to
me
yeah you look at uh I like the uh
scenery but the uh the main objective uh
for me to stay in saai for one week not
to actually uh
explore the actual City I want to go
outside the
city remote areas uh that are accessible
to to this city as far as the
public
transportation there is a train option
that takes me to a very nice um very
beautiful Temple that you will see soon
in one of
my uh future videos
[Music]
and you see that is the the river that I
was
referring too
earlier but I’m not quite sure if it’s
actually a river or
not and this bridge takes me
to I think it’s a famous
Museum right
there I have no
idea I have no idea what I’m going to
come across because today today I am
uh I am using this day as just doing
random
exploring wandering
around and exploring what I’m going to
come across
next they have a big list of
places as far as exploring the
town the hotel
lobby there is a big uh
guy that I picked they have so many uh
places but I I was kind of lazy to read
and figure out where the locations where
the sites are
located because I’m kind of uh burned
out I did a lot of uh I did a lot of uh
planning for my previous uh sites that I
visited and doing uh
YouTube is not uh it’s not that easy it
takes a lot of time
to to edit the videos and do all that
kind of stuff and I do see that there is
a coffee shop right there coffee shop in
uh food
court I guess it’s another
park that’s why I like to explore as I
go and film
you might ask me why I I am
filming if if I don’t have any plan
because the video might be um might not
be helpful at
all the answer to that question
is I do it for
memory you know I do it for memory if my
video fails for some reason nobody
watches it’s
boring it’s uh it it um it has the main
objective which is
memory and the second objective is to
help people I mean entertain people to
whoever is interested in um in watching
what Cai is looks like watching uh
unedited videos without any heavy
scripting or without any heavy editing
maybe that might be helpful see this uh
sign is a little bit um useful it says
my museum museum of art is that way but
I would like to go to the
river the river
section so the um so the video has
actually two
purposes two
objectives number one like I said is
memory number two is
to help the uh the the right kind of
audience who happens to find my videos
somehow and uh look at that very very
nice
wow very beautiful walk right there and
I do see another trail goes that way
maybe I should go the that
way it goes It goes that
way so when I keep that kind of mindset
when I do my uh YouTube videos and I
have that kind of mindset where I have
two purposes first is
memory and second is uh
helping you know the
viewers the um I don’t get disappointed
or I don’t get
uh uh disappointed if my video
fails because if it fails if it doesn’t
get uh viewers or views or the viewers
don’t like it at least
it it uh it served the first objective
which is
memory so that years from now I can go
back to my
videos on
YouTube and watch my time that I spent
here in uh
Cai so that objective now is met 100%
even if my video fails
and
also the I can uh give my link video
link to my uh to my friends and
uh and family if they are interested my
family relatives if they are interested
in watching my adventure in Japan so I
would say doing YouTube videos if you do
plan to do YouTube videos keep that in
mind to minimize your uh disappointment
level if your video fails or if your
channel fails if your main objective is
to go big to grow your Channel or to get
views I can tell you I can tell you I’m
talking from experience I’ve been doing
YouTube now for almost 2 years and my
channel is not going anywhere but it
doesn’t bother me at all
because because I am doing these
videos for memory
and if it goes big or if it goes uh if
it gets
views then that will be the icing on the
cake you know it will be uh it will be
good but I won’t be disappointed if I
don’t get views and that’s what keeps me
going and
also I don’t do uh YouTube channel to
earn money so that is out of the picture
I don’t uh I don’t plan
to to make
YouTube my one of my
main source of income because as of uh
April
2024 everything that I made of
YouTube I have donated
it I started my YouTube channel started
to make money back in June
2022 wow it looks like uh very nice area
to explore you see I found myself in
this uh beautiful section of the
town and I have no idea what this
gentleman statue
is but let’s
go let’s keep going up there the trail
continues right there so the the
channel got monetized means that uh I
entered the YouTube um partner program
where I earn money from the ads that you
see off YouTube when you watch my video
I started uh earning money back in June
2022 I was in Greenland at the time when
I got uh into that program because I met
their
criteria I met the YouTube criteria to
become uh a YouTube
uh partner
but
uh I decided at the moment when I when I
started earning money I said since I am
doing YouTube for fun you know I’m I’m
enjoying it to be quite honest with you
I’m I am enjoying it in part because I
like to watch it a year from now or two
years from now just for memory to see to
see my time to Rel those moments that I
spent in uh in this country in that
country you know whatever country
in this world is a very good tool to use
to document your
adventure so I said since I am doing it
for that I decided to whatever I make
off
YouTube I will uh use it to donate to to
some Charities that I believe in you
know and I’m not going to tell you what
charity I am using to donate money but I
did talk talk about this subject in one
of my hiking videos in Greenland I was
in the in the middle of
nowhere and uh looking at the icebergs
in
Greenland and I talked about that
subject in one of my videos so I’m not
going to tell you what
video uh that is but if you are one of
my viewers who watch my videos every
single video I upload you know you know
why I decided to do that the primary
reason the primary purpose behind my
decision to donate my YouTube
earnings to some
Charities as opposed to using it to fund
my travel expenses because I have
another source of income that covers
everything that covers my all these uh
travel including uh what including
flights and hotels and I have another
source of income and you might ask me
what that is I am a big
investor in the US Stock
Market and I give you a hint so you know
you know now so let’s keep going all the
way up to see what the
uh what I’m going to see
next site of cindai
Castle you
see I had no
idea that all my um random
exploring led me to a very famous uh
site and that is suai Castle and I don’t
even know what the castle uh looks like
because I spent most of my time last
night reading about the
the sites that I want to visit outside
suai that requires um a long uh train
ride but I did not spend that much
reading about uh Cai
itself but uh it looks like uh I’m not
that far away from the
castle so let’s uh let’s explore
it explore it
together you know it’s
very interesting that uh I saw my last
name printed on the one of the buses
that uh that I just
saw passing
by maybe uh my last name is the name of
the company that bus
company so I will have to go read about
that very very
interesting why my last name
happens to be a bus company name here in
Japan isn’t that
something really interesting but I did
not capture the the bus for privacy
reason I don’t want to broadcast to the
whole world what my my last name is but
it is what it is so you look at the the
castle
wall I found my s and
this interesting
uh
hike along this uh ancient
wall from what I know is that the the
city itself itself was founded
by a man called
Date d a t
e in n in 1600
160 that’s all I know about this
city but probably we will learn more as
we explore the the castle
together all right here is the
entrance to the beautiful
castle right there and there is a bus
stop right there that I might need to
use
to get back to the town the city center
because I have no energy to walk back
it’s been a long
uh hike Long Walk combo of walk and
hike and you’ve seen it almost
all and this video will be very very
long and I’m not going to put the
name of the
castle in the in the video title
because I don’t want
people to people who are looking for the
castle on YouTube and they click on my
video and they ended up hearing me blah
blah blah talking about random subjects
I don’t want to
disappoint those viewers so I’m going to
probably give the title of this video
probably I would say walking through the
streets of
sundai maybe that’s it walking through
the streets of sundai but I’m not going
to say top
places to to visit in
suai because that will be a
clickbait if I do want to get views
maybe that will work if I say top places
to visit in
suai but I’m not going to do that I will
say walking through the streets of suai
because maybe whoever decides to click
on that video is expecting to spend at
least 5 minutes or 10 minutes watching
the video since the title is saying
walking through the streets of sundai
because you’re not going to click on a
video if the
video if the if the video like a walking
video is not going to be 30 seconds or
what or 10 seconds it will probably be
at least minimum 10
minutes
so uh where is now the
entrance to the
castle but there is some kind of a
viewing
platform right there that I actually did
not like that much because it it
overlooks the U the modern section of
the
uh of the city suai by the
way I live uh I I’m staying
close to sundai station at the hotel
called AA
Hotel very nice hotel for about
55 um $55 per
night but the uh the
rooms are very very very
small even the bathroom is very small
but that hotel is close close very um
close
to the train station suai train
station and I chose to stay in that
section of the town to be able to do my
day trips to other parts to the
nearby uh cities nearby
towns from um from
suai and that is why I’m staying
there it’s kind of noisy right there
they have the generator for their uh for
the ice cream machine so let’s keep
going there and then there is a
beautiful building called AER
building that has an observation deck on
the 31st
floor that gives you a very
beautiful beautiful view of the
uh of the city of the modern part of the
city and that is free by the way I went
there I took the
elevator for free they have
not charge me
anything this is the parking right
there parking next to the uh toilet
[Music]
[Music]
see it turned out that there is no
actually Castle to go inside and explore
they only have uh a museum indoor museum
but there is no such a building to go
inside
and uh take a look
so that is a little bit uh disappointing
I was expecting to see Castle but that’s
not the case
[Music]
[Music]
bre got to
all right I am on my
way to explore that epic big
statue in this beautiful city of
saai in
mayagi uh
prefecture so the uh the bus
right took me
about 30
minutes to um to get to this um specific
location right there wow isn’t
that
beautiful I heard that there is a way
actually to go um to go inside and then
also climb all the way to the 11th
floor I read uh that on one of the
websites and for some
reason they don’t uh
promote this uh site on the uh on the
travel guides that uh they offer
throughout the
city I have not seen it on any travel
guide it just uh popped up on my uh
search uh Google search
results it’s really amazing I think when
they built it it was the tallest
Buddha statue in the world but I’m not
sure if it’s
still uh has that uh title the the
tallest uh statue in the world tallest
Buddha statue in the
world so uh as usual there is a
construction that is R ruining
my filming experience
and also I don’t see a lot of uh
people oh boy look at this uh hear that
new uh noise it’s really annoying me
let’s get
out from him so it doesn’t ruin my
audio video
audio okay I hope they allow uh cameras
in side which they do look it says uh
camera okay you know when I see this uh
sign okay that means good only 500 uh
yen to get
[Music]
inside
yeah so she told me that I can take the
elevator to the 11th floor and then on
my way back to the bottom floor I can
take the stairs to visit uh beautiful
statues along the way but I like uh the
first floor as well this is the first
floor
now and I see a big group of uh of
statues
[Music]
see I took the elevator to the 11th
floor and now I’m going to go down using
the uh the
stair and the stair here is like uh
looks amazing look at
that
wow and then
on each floor you see a lot of uh
beautiful uh statues right there see now
this is the 10th
floor and as you can see it continues
all the way all the way down

In the summer of 1974 I and
37 other students went to the US. In New York we could get a stake as big as a plate and French fries for 1 $. Not at mc Donalds. Or burger king.
As always you visit beautiful places.
When they dont have to learn English, Maybe the fact that Japan lost the second world war, like Germany. Is the reason why they dont learn English and of cause because it is kind of difficult to learn
Difficult for the Japanese
May I ask which Arab country you lived in before the US.
I have only been in Egypt for 2 weeks. Visiting Cairo and the pyramids. Aswan and the water power plant. Zahi Hawas, the egyptologist, had a boat that sailed tourists and participated in the film Death on the Nile. So we sailed with him from Aswan to Luxor and the 2 km long temple.
The air conditioning on the boat didnt work. But there was ice from the freezer
They sure have difficulty to communicate. For very few speak japanese.
We also visited Abu simble
We visited Egypt in april. Cairo temperatures were ok. But Abu simble was more than 40 degrees
The highest temperature in dk is 36,4. So more than 40 was warm. We had to walk under a big tree to get into the shaddow
I sure would like to see a video of Abu simble
The visit to Egypt was in 1979. So not so much air conditioning. And only during the day in luxor
I use my computer to watch your videos. I like the random subjects you spoke about.
