hi everyone and welcome back to Race
Across the world take woo yes the series
is back on Gathering momentum now and we
are really enjoying this series last
night what a cker was the episode last
night the teams entered southeast Asia
for the first time on this third leg of
Race Across the world charging 2,000 km
through Vietnam to the kingdom of
Cambodia to one of the fastest growing
cities in Southeast Asia ponen now it
was all about route choices last night
they could travel down the popular
coastal route down to hoimin City before
following the Mong River into Cambodia
all the teams could be a little bit
cheeky and take the shorter route
entering Cambodia from the north yes it
is gathering momentum I’m joined here by
the take boosters we have Jimmy Jimmy’s
back again good see Jimmy well and Kate
as well Kate good to see you hi and
ladies and gentlemen look at this would
join by Wendy Woo
herself now big talking point last night
we were all looking forward to and we
were at the edge of our seats waiting
for China Wy no China last night what
happened yeah okay it’s because the
excess I actually find out yeah it’s a
way it’s hard to get film access in
China so therefore we just getd to yeah
that’s why it’s such a shame though
wasn’t it because it’s such a huge
diverse country we all know that the
contestants would have had such an
incredible Adventure there and you can
see that they were really disappointed
that they W so looking forward to seeing
China last night it’s such a shame I’ve
been there before wend T it was amazing
and I really want to go back in my head
and see China again sh such a shame
we’re going to have to make it happen
for the next series there’s going to
have to be a China special series got to
be com up and I’m working on
that if anybody can do it Wendy you can
do it absolutely now guys last night the
teams were in jeopardy it was all about
route choices whether they took the
coastal route the quicker route and
enjoyed the cities and the culture or
were they a bit cheeky and going in land
into for a quicker route guys what do
you think about their choices last night
it was actually the first episode where
there’s been such a wide choice of of
different ways to go and I think we
really saw how that affected the teams
with their strategy and also started to
affect the order that people came in in
obviously uh you know Betty and James
they started the day so far behind from
that checkpoint but with their strategy
they absolutely caught up they played an
absolute Blinder I completely agree but
when you looked at the map and I thought
a train a train from A to B is going to
be the quickest there’s going to be no
traffic situations no traffic stops
straight down L behold that was the
worst decision to be made it was the
longest wave you could have got from A
to B on that train yeah and actually for
briy and Sharon to do the whole route by
train I mean I mean don’t get me wrong I
would prefer train travel the actual
scenery looked stunning a beautiful way
to travel but I think they were on that
train for 30 hours 36 36 36 hours 36
hours it’s a long time to be on a train
I would choose train travel but not for
that long just doing little sections at
a time do you remember when Shon said to
the lady sing the ticket you’ve telling
me it’s
36 she could believe it and also their
brid and Sharon had
so much behind everybody else so they
actually just had to catch up that CH
trip actually enabled them to catch up
in such a big amount but unfortunately
they decide to do work if they didn’t
they had a chance when they decide to do
work yet again they lost which is sh
yeah now guys again last night you know
fantastic contrast you know with Vietnam
and Cambodia two very very different
countries a lot of teams struggle to
find local transport to put on pen and
actually opted for private taxes do you
think is that is that a problem in these
areas in
Cambodia yes
the local transport is available but
it’s a poor quality and the far in
between so therefore yes it’s a hard
that’s TV is what it is yeah and I think
it just goes to show that if you do want
to get away from those real tourist
Trail and you want to go to some
slightly off the beaten trapped places
you want to get to some hidden gems then
actually that’s when the transport is
not so good and that’s when it’s very
hard to get to those places by yourself
and you’re not going to see so much of
what you can see when you do it on
yourself because the buses the courtes
the trains won’t take you to the amazing
places that we go to so it’s yeah agree
I’m going to ask you guys as well you’re
all season Travelers you know language
is so important but you know when you’re
traveling overseas these guys are making
no effort with the language at all
expecting everyone to speak English very
daunting I’m sorry to because I just saw
the picture that is n be and this is the
beach near H and the one before is all
the little mountains the hills or this Z
is ning as well and it is one of the
show area that what’s called um Isabella
and Eugene they went to that place but
unfortunately because Lake of time Lake
of money they didn’t get to say it but
this and what you didn’t say it’s just
Absolut fabulous that’s what it is if
they had the time and money they should
say that that’s yes well that all Race
Across the world they missing out so
many things it is and it’s frustrating
isn’t it CU you think wow you’re in
these incredible places but you’re torn
between
exploring that’s ning Bing that’s where
they went but they didn’t have chance to
beautiful Beau now guys I’ve got to ask
you did you shed a tear on last night’s
episode wasn’t there a touching moment
absolutely heartbreaking we Alf and when
Alf went out and lit the candle for his
mother and said that oh that that set me
off that really did absolutely but you
know that and also you know so many
local experiences that we saw last night
you know eating with local families
enjoying you know the hospitality there
I know that that’s such an important
part of travel isn’t it guys yes it is
and I think Betty and James when they
stayed with the local family which
wasn’t really planned was it it was
because of the weather that they stayed
there but they then ended up saying I
think it was one of the most enriching
moments of their Journey having that
authentic experience and one of the
moments that they were forced to pause
and really like enjoy the destination
that they were in but have you ever seen
rain that they saw last night when they
went there oh my God that was hot warm
humid boiling rain coming down wasn’t it
it l great I would love to run through
that rain show you know it as well I
think it just shows you have to go with
the flow when you’re traveling because
sometimes some of your best memories and
some of your favorite experiences come
from bad weather or you know there being
even something unplanned happening on
your trip and you just relax with it and
go with the flow and you can make really
special memories now it is getting
exciting now you know we we saw the
first elimination last night with Sharon
and B out of the
competition do we think was it too early
to have an elimination at this stage we
shouldn’t have had an elimination yet it
was far too early I just see the point I
said this last week what’s the point of
elimination let all the teams race right
to the end and give every single
contestant the experience of traveling
through all the different countries in
Asia because I feel that Bry and they’re
going to miss out now they are going to
miss out and they’re going to miss out
the experience that the other
contestants are going to get kti what’s
your view well I I liked it Jimmy
because it really put the pressure on
them really put the pressure like from
the minute that they turned the card
over and saw someone’s going to get
eliminated I think they thought right
we’ve got to up our game now and we’ve
got to be more strategic um it was harsh
because actually anyone could have gone
out anyone could have made one little
mistake and had something not go to plan
and they would have been out which is
Harsh I I liked it and I was watching
with my teenage boys and they actually
like it because they just want to if
they go they just want to win and they
just want that F and to win whereas I am
the opposite I love that Steve and VI
wi I’m with you I’m with
you because the way they actually travel
they go into the experience remember in
Japan they did the Japanese BS and
really immersed and even in the haress
of Indiana and Cambodia they still did
the mud bus they really enjoy yeah and
you know my teenage voice there and me
and then they say oh we want a to to to
win and EV is great let them just charge
on but that’s life is not about it and I
think Steve and re they know how to live
so I hope no no no disagree W you might
be a big boss I disagree completely
right okay you’ve got Steven he was so
rude he’s telling the bus dver move this
is my time he’s sitting there then he
goes and has his walk M bath for hours
he waiting people up on the train by
opening up their blinds what about when
he jumped in the queue they’re queuing
to get their tickets and he’s like
excuse me we’re in a
race oh okay he knows No Boundaries yeah
okay we with Steve and I look at it
because my teenage boy just also talked
about Steve did have a heart attack
before so therefore he possibly have
different perspective in life and
because of that voice a little bit
sympath towards him and they just said
oh we don’t want BR and Sharon waste the
time because they even say we don’t care
about race race and no wonder they were
loose and then what’s called but with st
M they they understood life is different
and I think Steve Steve did very well he
is a combination of enjoy whatever is
there he can to the best but also
knowing his job is to win on this show
so therefore I think especially I love
the fact the one you didn’t like he
actually have a card I even told the
boys that you just should say English
question and even easier so let’s let so
guys going to ask you Wendy talking
about winning we’re getting you know
halfway through who is going to win who
you betting for Isabelle and your is
same I think they’re absolutely
brilliant especially Isabelle and
actually you talked about people not
making the effort to learn the languages
but she is the only one that really has
made that effort to learn languages and
you know integrate a little bit more
absolutely when you final St my bed my
bed is at AR and the Owen will win
because initially they should have won
but they make arrows they had to always
back track to the C to toy twice another
Japanese place twice but now I think
they are learning and the second time
they could have win second episode but
they decide run instead of taking the
taxi which would be the right way but
now I think they are having the hand of
it and in fact last night that episode
they have been wonderful because F just
want to win because of him I think they
will win and Owen just want to
experience but between them they have
the very good combination they are very
young as experienced as Steve and but
they are getting the experience and so
therefore I think they will win but I
think of our wonderful customers for our
customers I like Steve
absolutely with you on that one so
everybody that’s that’s take wo the
episode for you join us again next week
and if you’re watching yes we know
you’re watching out there and enjoying
take wo we want to see you on the show
so please do get in touch with us and
come and join us on the couch on Race
Across the world take wo and we’ll see
you again next time yeah thank you
byebye
