Super good but I can also tell Japan has made my spice tolerance weaker π
#japan #tokyo #curry #cafe #bananaleaf #ikebukuro #γ«γ¬γΌ
so I’ve never had Sri Lankan food before
and I decided to try it in Tokyo there
is a pretty highly rated restaurant in
ikebukuro called floridate which quite
literally means Florida restaurant but
it serves Sri Lankan food and their most
well-known dish was the Banana Leaf
Curry and it comes of course in a banana
leaf and the meal inside is steaming hot
so when you open this little package the
deliciously spiced scent just
immediately comes out of it I could
barely wait long enough to mix
everything up but it comes with
something called papadum I think which
I’m sorry if I’ve pronounced it wrong
but it’s a Crispy Crunchy flatbread that
you have to break and sprinkle over the
rice which adds a nice texture it had
nuts and spice and this big egg in the
middle and to a certain extent I almost
didn’t quite know what I was eating I
just knew it was really good and mixing
it all up made sure every bite was the
perfect bite you had this whole balanced
meal this one little Banana Leaf package
it’s kind of weird to have my first
experience in Sri Lankan Cuisine to be
in Japan but I’m always looking out for
more options so here’s to more of these

Hi! Since this video left my usual circle I want to put this here! I appreciate if you can read it. π
1) This place is Florida-tei (γγγͺγδΊ) in Tokyo. Itβs delicious and you should try it!
2) Iβm not versed in Sri Lankan cuisine as you can tell by the title. I just post vlogs on my life for memories and this one happened to get popular. Thanks for watching!
3) The restaurant has a tutorial on how to eat their dish. I simply followed that tutorial. Iβm sure they made it easy to follow for any Japanese people or tourist that come in since we are not used to eating with our hands. The name of the dish on the menu is Banana Leaf Curry which is why I call it that.
Thanks for watching!
Delicious

It's just like kerala food
I don't understand what that is, looks a fusion of kabsa + biriyani + mandhi + fried rice. Or in simper terms, a random rice dish. What is it called? Can any Sri Lankan care to explain?
close enough, hope you get to come to Sri Lanka and try it for real tho.
So nice to see you experience our food. Everyone recommends eating by hand so that you can take a little bit of each item and mix it with the rice with each bite you take, itβs so much more flavorful. I hope you get to experience more of our cuisine when you visit someday.
Oh my god she was mixed allπ π
