we tried zubor Kettle udon in fuka Japan
and here’s what it was like where men
and Kevin we recently got married and
decided to travel to fukoka Japan as
country one of our travel sabatical
extended honeymoon here is our review of
this Udan restaurant the restaurant is
called Hakata AKA choku and is located
in Ran Machi near the gon Subway and
Goku Machi subway station the restaurant
specializes in zubor Kettle Udan which
is served in a kettle as well as Kima
Curry Udan which can be eaten three
different ways the noodles are different
they’re made with a special wheat that
gives it a brown color and makes it look
like whole wheat we got both of their
Specialties to try for lunch for lunch
reservations are not required but there
may be a way depending what time you go
there when we went there on a weekday
around noon there was no weight but the
restaurant was full for dinner
reservations are definitely recommended
we started with the zubor kettle udon
with Motu which are beef intestines the
udon noodles were really slippery and
hard to pick up with chopsticks
but once we finally got it and dipped it
into the mulu broth it was very
tasty actually good try one the molu M
molu very soft then we Tred the Kima
Curry udon which can be eaten in three
different ways the first way is to eat
it by itself so we mixed all the
ingredients together in one bowl and
slurped it up a noodle bowl has Bonito
flakes Kima curry with ground meat and
scallion in it the second way to eat it
is by sprinkling tempura chips on top
I like the extra texture from it the
crunch finally the last way to eat it is
by pouring dashi broth into the
noodles T different you want more
overall we would give this a rating of
two out of three stars if you like udong
we’d recommend you try it once but it’s
not necessarily a restaurant that we
would go out of our way to get again in
terms of cost we would say this is a $1
sign restaurant the total for both
dishes was 1,830 Yen which is about $12
so it’s pretty cheap is this a good deal
we would say yes it’s a good deal given
the price you pay and the uniqueness of
the noodle dishes for more restaurant
