In this Kenya Travel Vlog, we went on a full day safari game drive in the Masai Mara National Reserve with Baboon Budget Safari! We stayed at a budget camp called Miti Mingi Eco Camp near the Oloolaimutia gate on the east side of the Masai Mara.
We booked our tour with Baboon Budget Safari in Nairobi city centre. The cost of the safari (during the off-season) was:
– USD 100 per person, per day for the entry tickets to Masai Mara (which is USD 200 per person, per day during the tourist season beginning June 2024)
– USD 160 per person for the whole excursion which includes:
– stay at the campsite (we chose a budget tent accommodation)
– breakfast, lunch and dinner during the trip (vegetarian food available)
– unlimited drinking water, tea, coffee and chocolate milk (other drinks extra)
– Game drives in a safari tour van (Toyota Hiace with pop-up roof / viewing balcony)
– Transfers from Nairobi to Masai Mara and back to Nairobi
– Full-time guide throughout the journey who knows a LOT about the animals (definitely ask for Mr. Boniface ๐ค )

Your budget safari exceeded expectations. It has all the safari drama ๐๐..You're extremely fortunate. Having visited Maasai and other game parks and reserves in Kenya multiple times, and having seen all of the Big Five, the lion give you a phenomenal show. The hunt was wow ๐คฉ. It's also rare to see all of the Big Five in a single visit, but you managed 3.

I was looking at your breakfast buffet and noticed the sauces, the jam, the margarine, peanut butter and even the serviettes/napkins are all kenyan brands. unlike big hotels where it will be heinz ketchup and skippy imports. and its a better way for the camp to save money. win win
