Before coming here, people would tell me that you can find anything in a vending machine in Japan. Somewhat true but most of them are your regular drink vending machines but I have spotted interesting ones
- Pizza, coronets, and strawberry bread
- A dog and cat food vending machine
- Regional mochi confectionery boxes
- Denim masks from kurashiki
- crab bento boxes
- Soba noodles in a cup and other noodle packages
- Phone accessories mainly but throw in diapers too
- Ishikawa regional foods
- This might be common throughout japan but it’s the first I’ve seen it
- Gourmet French packaged meals
- Macarons
- Leaf pie cookies
- Ramen, but don’t get your hopes up for a hot bowl of it
- Tuna gyoza, cinnamon rolls, citrus daifuku mochi
- The baskin robbins vending, I think this type. it might be more common around the country
- I didn’t know they made them this short

I’ve always wondered, do these vending machines accept regular credit cards as well (eg Charles Schwab, Chase, etc) or IC cards only?
I’m surprised you didn’t see a half shiracha, half dashi stock vending machine
Quote the collection.
I’m going to crosspost to r/neverchangejapan if you don’t mind.
Let me know if you do, and I’ll delete it.
When we were in Diver City to see the big unicorn gundam, we found a vending machine for meat for making yakiniku.
Found one with just bottles of Sriracha sauce
I wish we could have cool things in the US. We would just destroy them in a week here.
Honestly, I would sell a kidney to visit this country, but I’d be broke immediately, I’m a sucker for a vending machine and a sucker for odd things. I’d have to buy a suitcase and send it home before me.
